Yo folks. Anywho post your character here/reserve a post, and wait patiently until everyone has before we proceed.
Sheets not on this page:

A new character approaches! (whoops, forgot to mention - I'm zagman505's friend! good times. I hope this is the right way to add my character in!)
Charlotte Capuante

Background: Grew up in Florida in a lower-middle class family of no particular note, moved to NY for college. She was majoring in architecture when her power started to manifest. Confronted with something obviously impossible, she assumed she was going insane.
The series of therapists she saw to try to work through it did manage to help her with the other emotional turmoil she was going through (you know, college) but unsurprisingly did nothing for her "delusions". No one believed her powers were real, because any actually discernible, unfakeable demonstrations would have required extremely dangerous situations to bring out. More on that later.
Unfortunately, architecture workloads being as they are, the ensuing turmoil left her flunked out of college and stranded in the bitter northlands. She's been working retail-sector jobs ever since, trying to get her life generally on track and figuring out what she wants to do - so far, mostly using her meager salary to support a sculpture habit.

Personality: Charlotte's a little rough around the edges, doesn't tend to take flak from anyone, and generally likes to party. She's slowly come to terms with the inability of the medical establishment to remove her 'delusions', having come to the view that if she can't get rid of them, she might as well live with them. She's cautiously distrustful of her own abilities. She uses a mac, watches game shows when she's bored, and generally doesn't give a fig.

Appearance: She's a touch on the tall side, around 5'11", and pretty stocky. She doesn't care much about her appearance, but her job stocking shelves at a big box store has given her enough muscle to pull her weight. When she's going out, she likes to wear long dresses, but opts for cargo pants when stuff needs to get done. The cold does not agree with her - she's rarely seen without her hideous eye-straining mess of blue and orange zigzags which she calls a winter coat. Her hair is dark, in a messy short cut. The pacific islander side of her family shows through her facial features.

Powers: She can use the force of impacts as a boost to speed or strength. Generally, this does not prevent her from feeling those impacts.
Her power is impact force copying. When she gets hit by something, or feels an impact in general, she is able to use it for a boost to her own strength or speed, corresponding to the strength of the impact.
As an example, if someone hits her with a baseball bat, she'll reel and gasp from the pain of the impact, but she can then turn around and punch him really, really hard. Unreasonably hard.
The general scale rule of thumb is that if the impact is reasonably small or something that you could shrug off, it won't give her a boost beyond the normal scale of human abilities. Granted, she's not a lightweight, so if someone shoves her to the ground, that's probably enough for her to get a pretty darn good punch back in. If someone hits her with a particularly heavy fastball, she can probably bench press you without breaking a sweat.
The boost she gains decays over time, so she needs to use it within a minute or two or it fades.
Finally, I mentioned before that she still feels the impact - which isn't 100% true. By focusing and concentrating her ability, she can absorb impacts without feeling them - but it's difficult. She's only just learning to do this, so it takes her a while to get it right, and it's not something she can use in combat by any means.

Training: Charlotte can work an arc welder, knows a bit about managing store inventory, and can tell you all about the architectural influences on the Empire State Building. Aside from that, she's got a pretty well-established village in DragonVille for iOS.

Wealth: She's got an iPhone, a <$30k a year salary, crappy apartment with a friend, and a pile of college debt. Not much more. Probably a tazer in her purse.

6. Subject separated from military service October 12, 2008 and worked for several Fortune 100 companies before ultimately deciding to found his own company; Kinsey Engineering.

7. Current status: [Under Surveillance]

8. Personality Evaluation - Subject has a Type-A personality with a strong sense of justice. Subject is typical of his type and has an over-developed sense of patriotism which can be used to guide and direct. Care must be taken to ensure he is unaware of this manipulation as it will certainly drive him to act against the program. Subject has attachments that can be used to manipulate his actions but, again, great care must be used or we risk losing his 'cooperation'.

Classified: TOP SECRET : SCI

Capabilities

Psychokinesis - Subject has the ability to manipulate objects with his mind. Instead of the typical type, lifting heavy objects, Subject's ability extends to the micro-scale. Currently able to only lift on the order of 70 to 100 kilograms gross weight but can deftly manipulate objects down to the microscopic level. With practice, subject may even be capable of rearranging atomic structures. His range is currently limited to dozens of feet but will certainly grow with regular exercise.

Technopathy/Technokinesis - Subject seems to have the ability to communicate with machines and operate them remotely via mental command. It seems he is currently only able to cause target machines to perform a function they are already designed to do (cause an electronic lock to open, an ATM to dispense cash, a computer to open a file/program). This ability extends to mechanical devices to a lesser extent as he presents the ability to remotely pilot a vehicle, though this certainly ties into his psychokinesis. Similar to his psychokinesis, subject's range with this ability is limited with respect to affected devices. One exception, however, seems to be the manipulation of computer systems. The 'local' device must be within his range but from there, any device connected to it can be affected.

Heightened Intelligence - As a participating member of project <REDACTED>, all members were given comprehensive IQ tests. Subject scored in the 95th percentile. Over the course of the project, Subject exhibited seemingly random flashes of insight which came from nowhere. This phenomenon was observed several times as critical points were reached. Subject was pressed to see how far this ability would extend but the project was de-funded before an upper limit was reached. As part of the debriefing process, Subject was given a second battery of IQ evaluations and scored in the upper 97th percentile. While not definitive, we believe subject's intelligence is growing. This may be the source of these new abilities or just another effect, no evidence exists to say.

Lesser Capabilities

Subject holds advanced degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. He is an original, out-of-the-box thinker, capable of extraordinary leaps of logic.

Subject is a decorated combat soldier with certification in small arms deployment. Subject is command pilot rated and holds a senior remote RPS pilot rating. Subject completed the MAC hand to hand training program in 2008 and trains vigorously in Krav Maga.

Subject is particularly adept with computer systems. Programming(To include software development, retro-engineering, and network warfare), Networking, are all considered to be at Mastery level.

James "Nomad" Leaden

Background: James grew up traveling around the world with his father, a minor crook but true adventurer. To be honest, the man wasn't a great father, but he taught James the skills he needed to survive anywhere in the world. James learned basic math through stats and betting odds at underground fighting matches, various languages by running with the other street children, and other such experiences. James' powers began manifesting themselves when James was fourteen. It started small at first; hearing whispers of his father's thoughts, objects sliding around on the table, a general sense of healthiness. Jame's father quickly noticed these abnormalities, and cautioned James to hide them, but practice. When his father died, James continued wandering, not knowing what else to do. He now finds himself in this city and country, having met a few people like him.

Personality: James' father imparted an "it's us against the world" vision to the young James, and it has stuck with him ever since. He tends toward shallow relationships, as his and his father's constant roaming made it almost impossible to form anything more with outsiders. At his core, James is a genuinely nice guy, but his tendency towards extreme pragmatism can often overshadow his benevolence.

Appearance: 23 years old, Eurasian, 5'11", 170 lbs., shaved head, brown eyes, muscular physique. His fashion style would best be described as "urban combat apparel".

Powers: Telekinesis, telepathy, superior physiology

Telekinesis: Fairly standard. He can move things with his mind. He isn't hurling around cars with just a thought, but it still packs a serious wallop. He is capable of detail work, such as lockpicking. With every passing day, the greater this power grows, affecting smaller and larger scales.

Telepathy: Right now, it is mostly limited to sending his own thoughts or receiving those from minds he has "attuned" to. With effort, he can "nudge" the minds of others, making them have a certain thought (but not implanting it long-term), or cloud their mind for a brief moment.

Superior physiology: Another superheroic standard. James' strength, speed, agility, reaction time, etc. are all Olympic-level or better. He almost never needs to sleep or eat, and heals remarkably quickly (but not so quick that the average thug with a knife isn't a real concern). He doesn't get sick, and always looks to be in the peak of health. His IQ is likely somewhere above 180, with an eidetic memory.

Training: James has a wide variety of skills. His practical skillset leans towards the criminal, survivalist, and combat side of things. His father taught him things such as lockpicking, con games, and survival skills. James has picked up combat styles from around the world, resulting in a unique style. His travels have also exposed him to more cultures and places than most people will ever see, but have left him deficient in numerous areas, specifically the liberal arts and hard sciences.

Wealth/holdings/titles: Almost broke. He carries everything he owns in a large backpack. He has made enough to afford modern conveniences, but they aren't the newest models. Luckily, a wide network of friends around the world allows him to travel and survive with ease. He is currently dressed in combat boots, military pants, a black t-shirt, a hoody, a long leather duster, and gloves. At his side is a large, well-worn knife and a smartphone. In the backpack are some extra clothes, rope, a flashlight, his laptop, a multi-tool, and a number of other things. Buried down at the bottom is a Walther P99. Everything looks used but well-cared for.

Lucas Trask of Trasken

Background:
A blacksmiths son from the Backwoods, his father fixed everything from Automobiles to Horseshoes, and Lucas worked the family lands with his father, helping in the shop, or in the backwoods where they made charcoal, maple syrup and furniture to sell to tourists. He discovered his powers in a forge accident. Or rather, what should have been a forge accident, that wasn't. His father still doesn't know, and to keep him from knowing, Lucas joined the army as a Bomb Disposal operative, but after 4 'lucky' escapes and being seconded to 'SF', his contract is now over and he's looking for something new to do in life. Firefighter seems obvious, but it'd also be obvious the first time he was supposed to die and didn't. His Hobbies are traditional crafts and role-play gaming, enjoying traditional forge work (where he can use his abilities) and the gaming explores a world of others like him. He is an old friend of the local hobby store owner, and knows Dill as a passing small town acquaintance.

Personality: Gruff Exterior, Dark Sense of Humour underneath and a stoic philosophy (with a fair bit of Epicureanism)
Appearance
Not overly tall, but broad shouldered, with the look of working muscle, rather than show. He dresses in Boots, Wranglers, old shirts and Carhart jackets or a Hunting Camo. Dark short cropped hair and eyes, and now he dosn't have to shave, often dark stubble

Power:
Summary: Control of, and Resistance to Fire (in the Cinematic sense, so explosions too)
Fire Resistance: 7 Points. Heat does not harm him, nor does flame or explosions. He'll pass out from lack of oxygen, his clothes will be burned to ash, but he'll wake up and walk out of any blaze unscathed. He's quick healing to all damage, but he's only vaguely aware of that aspect of it.
Fire Control: 3 Points. He can start a fire with a finger, if he has fuel and oxygen, he can direct a fire to control where it is hot or how it spreads and if he tries very hard, he can stop fire, slowly cooling it down, but this makes him feel sick. Very sick.

Training: He's a good old boy, so when it comes to Day to Day life, he can fix your car, repair your rifle or your tv remote. He can hunt (he loves bowhunting), and as a former GI he's skilled in firearms, and he can drive. I doubt his bomb disposal skills will come up, but who knows.

Wealth/holdings/titles: Trasken is a battered old blacksmiths and mechanics in rural New York State with a back 100 acres of woods. Lucas's father still owns the land and runs the shop. He has no idea his son is anything out of the ordinary. Trasken has the GI bill, so he's thinking about going to school, and he has his back pay, so he's comfortable for now, living with his father. He has an old pick up trick that looks rusty and runs like a charm. It's water proofed and stocked with an axe, shovel rope winch, FAK fire extinguisher, food and water.
He has a Traditional Recurve Bow and a large collection of fletching supplies and arrows.

Jules Delacroix

Background
Jules is born from a French father and an English mother. He grew up most of his life in the suburbs of London. From childhood, he had exhibited extraordinary intelligence and may well be in the genius level. Because of this, he had experienced being bored most of the time, due to his ability to learn things rather quickly.

This all changed when he met one girl who opened his heart to love and music. She was also a prodigy and she challenged him to his limits of his creativity. But as all things go, this relationship ended. However, music has become an integral part of Jules' life, and thus he decided to pursue it as a career.

To further his career in music, he enrolled at Juilliard and got in without much effort. It was during his college days that he discovered he was able to do things that common logic dictates should not be possible. He was able to make things that moved faster or slower as he liked, and in some cases, he could cause them to completely be frozen in space-time, making the target stuck in space, immovable and indestructible. Of course, he did not reveal this to any other soul. But he did find use for it in his studies, adjusting the vibrations of his or other people's instruments to adjust the volume or pitch, or sustain or stop them.

On his free times, he would experiment with his powers to try to ascertain its capabilities and limitations. One thing he noticed was that he could not affect living things such as humans or animals, but any object, solid, liquid, or gas (only with particulate matter that is visible such as smoke) he could apply on without fail. Like other teens, the thought of being some sort of superhero entered his mind, but he was too practical to decide against it. Sometimes though, he would slow down the shoes or shirt of the occasional punk running away from the police or some such, but he takes care not to do it too often for other people to notice.

The fact that he had those powers told Jules that there should be others like him, and so he spent half of the free time he had in searching for people like him. But since it had to be done in a roundabout way, he had little results, most just rumors or hyped up stories.

Jules graduated last year, and barely so. Not because he was not good, but because he rarely went to classes and had lots of issues with professors. The school saw his talent despite those and even offered him to work for them, to which he readily accepted with the reasoning that he wanted to take a year off before actually starting his career.
Personality
Jules is laid-back, fun-loving, friendly but a bit shy. He is whimsical and hates being told what to do. He is extremely curious, always looking for the next thing to do. He is open-minded, and does not have too much of an opinion, but in the event that he does not like something, he is hard to convince otherwise.

Appearance
About five feet ten inches in height, with short, black hair, green eyes, tall nose, a strong jawline, fair complexion, and toned body, Jules has the looks to charm a girl or two if he tried, but his casual disregard for proper hygiene does something to curb this. He rarely ever combs his hair, and wears nothing but shirt and jeans (usually the same pair) unless he is performing.

Power Haste/Slow/Stop
Haste/Slow - Jules has the power to speed up or slow down any non-living object. He can only affect things he can see with mass of a normal sedan or smaller (therefore he cannot affect invisible objects such as air or objects moving at speeds faster than his eyes could follow). As of now, he can speed up or slow down objects up to twice their current speed. This effect is instantaneous, applying as soon as Jules sees the object and decides what to do with it, and wears off until the object hits something (in the case of hasted object) or stops (for slow). For haste, he can only speed up objects that are already in motion.

Stop -Aside from speeding up or slowing down objects, Jules can stop the time of an object completely, locking it in place and making it indestructible. He can only do this to things he can see, and he can only stop 8 human-sized objects or smaller at a time for now. If he stops another object, the first object he stopped will regain its normal state. Stopped objects remain so until after an hour or Jules wills it to regain its normal state, and upon returning to its normal state, the object takes whatever damage it took instantly. Stopping an object is also an instantaneous effect.
Training
Jules is considered to be a genius and is capable of learning almost anything if he puts his mind into it. It also helps that he has an eidetic memory. As far as his music training, he can play almost any instrument, but is a master of the piano, the violin, the oboe, the cielo, and the timpani. He also plays wicked guitars.

Physically, Jules is fit enough to compete in college level sport competitions, although he admits he does not have the physical talent to excel in them and largely relies on his wits and craftiness and uncanny reflexes. He runs every day and plays basketball when he has the time. He also knows martial arts like aikido and wing chun.

Wealth/holdings/titles
Jules earns a modest pay with his teaching and lives in a solo apartment near the school. Since he is living alone, most of his earnings go to paying the rent and the rest, he spends on whatever hobbies he fancies.

“Dill” (Dillinger) Vanderberg

Background: Dill is a 16-year-old boy from a small town in upstate New York. He is tall, thin, bookish and a dreamer. He is a fantasy tabletop rpg gamer and loves to DM. He likes puzzles and likes to think of crazy ways to solve them. Bit of a geek so he is picked on a bit by jocks, but he’s not a loser… he has lots of friends. He’s just your standard middle-class, nice kid living with his normal, happy parents. His father teaches history in the local high school and his mother teaches English in middle school. His one claim to fame is his fantasy miniatures. He has won many prizes for his intricate models, and had lots of them pictured in magazines.

Personality: Dill is inexperienced, friendly, excitable, and bit naive

Appearance: He is very tall and extremely thin so no clothes really fit him right. Small shirts show his stomach and extra-large shirts make it look like he is wearing a trash bag. Nordic stock, light brown hair in need of a good haircut, brown eyes, and a nice smile. He might be handsome with a haircut and clothes that fit. Usually wears t-shirts that are too big (wide really) and jeans that are cinched in with a belt so they don’t fall off his skinny ass.

Power: Animation

Dill can animate and modify non-living objects. He originally figured this out when he was 4 by animating his toys. He completely freaked out a 14 year old babysitter (who no one took seriously when she called the police) and realized he should keep it a secret. But when he does miniature gaming by himself, his miniatures really fight.

Basically Dill has the power to make golems. He can keep them going as long as he concentrates. When he forgets about them, they freeze in their last position. They have to be in eyesight. He can’t see through their eyes/hear through their ears… yet (but his rpg books are giving him ideas of what he should work on). Big things require more concentration, but he can get up to 20 miniatures to march and fight at the same time.

One of Dills big tricks as a poor high school student is to animate his minivan and have it run as a golem rather than using gasoline. He still asks his parents for gas money though. (Technically the vehicle is moving itself so Dill doesn’t have to be in the driver’s seat, but he still has to be able to see to control where it is going. If he is locked in a trunk, he can get the vehicle to move but has no idea where it is going.)

Dill can also sculpt non-living materials by touch. This is how he wins miniature building competitions. The harder the material, the more time it takes him to mold it. (It took him half an hour to fix a dent so his parents didn’t see.)

Dill’s current big project (and what might attract some attention) is (self-) powered armor. He has built armor (based off his favorite fantasy artwork) and animates it like a golem while he is inside. (The armor doesn’t bolt together, he seals himself inside.) The concentration this takes is fairly intense, but he can get it to run, jump, swing a sword, etc. (He practices with it at night in fields/woods near his hometown.)

(I’m thinking that most of his limitations are mental blocks, rather than a power limitation)

Training: Dill hasn’t even finished high school and he has only been driving for about 9 months. (He has worked on his power daily in secret for about 13 years.)

Wealth/holdings/titles: Roughly $500 in a bank account and $1000 in stocks. An extremely small and limited fame (fantasy miniature lovers). His parents old minivan. A set of heavy plate mail style armor with sword, shield, and flowing red cape. A loving and stable family in a fairly nice home.

Xavier Darius Bonavich the Fifth

Background:
The Bonaviches are an extremely wealthy family. Groomed to be the family heir from a very young age, Xavier was trained to always strive for success. He didn't have much of a childhood, though his every need was always immediately taken care of. He has attended highly prestigious schools all around the world, and just graduated university with a business degree. Xavier plans on finding a job in NYC and is staying at an apartment his family owns near Times Square. However, currently he is 'on vacation' and spends his time mostly practicing his ability and swinging a stick (learning to fight with swords/staves/spears). Xavier's power awakened at age 13 while he was staying in Chicago, when somebody tried to mug him. The mugger attempted to attack him with a steel pipe, but upon contact with Xavier's body the pipe bent away harmlessly. The mugger fled, and Xavier has been practicing his ability in secret ever since. This incident is also what prompted Xavier to learn Krav Maga. Currently only Xavier's close family know about his ability.

Personality:
Xavier was trained to be courteous to everyone else, and he is when he's not distracted by something else. However, he's very frequently distracted, pursuing small personal projects to the exclusion of all other activities, up until he gets bored and moves on to something else. Due to the circumstances of his childhood, Xavier tends to have some trouble understanding and connecting with people. He is very confident when undertaking any task, though unfortunately this confidence is largely unjustified outside of intellectual matters. His confidence leads him to attempt to do everything on his own, which combined with his drive to succeed makes Xavier exceptionally stubborn and unwilling to concede defeat. He frequently acts rashly when denied his way.

Appearance:
21 years old, about 5'10", thin Caucasian. Blonde hair, pale blue eyes. He is reasonably fit, but decidedly average in terms of strength, agility, etc.

Power: The ability to bend things.
Things that can be bent:
Xavier can bend any solid object. Liquids react to the power, but don't hold their bent form. Bent objects retain their bent form until one of the following occurs:
- Xavier unbends the object (same as bending, but willing it to return to its normal shape instead of changing shape)
- The object is broken while in its bent shape
- 1 hour passes from the time of last bending
The object snaps back to its original form when it becomes unbent, releasing a force proportional to the magnitude of the bending.

Range of bending:
The object must be within 1 ft of his body.

Bending speed:
Varies. The bending is faster with smaller objects, objects closer to his body, stationary objects, and when he is focusing on the object.
Training:
Xavier has had a top class education, and was a stellar student in every subject. Though he graduated with a business degree, he is most interested in math and physics, particularly in relation to his ability. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Mandarin. He has been trained in Krav Maga, and recently began studying how to fight with swords, spears, and staves.

Wealth/holdings/titles:
Xavier is very well off in his own right (his father has taught him how to be a successful investor), and always has access to family funding if needed. The Bonaviches own property all over the world, most of which are rarely if ever occupied. In addition, the Bonaviches have powerful friends all around the world; if absolutely necessary, Xavier can call on these connections to have some strings pulled in his favor. However, if at all possible, Xavier avoids using his family's assets, preferring to get by on his own merits.

Joshua Blake

Background

Currently, Joshua is a 32 year old professor of physics at NYU. He is tenured, though being the youngest tenured professor; he typically gets left with the Physics 101 classes no one else wants to teach. Obtaining his doctorate from Brown University twelve years prior in molecular physics, NYU was one of the few places willing to take a chance on hiring such a “young” professor. For him it was an easy call, as he wanted to see the Big Apple, as, he was just a small town Texas boy, after all.
Much of his theoretical research has been rejected, though theory was never really his strong suit. Application, that’s his strength and NYU quickly, came to realize this, which is why they gave him tenure at such an early age.
One perk that Joshua enjoys, is the use of his own personal, “secret” lab. After all, abandoned subway stations need to be used for something, right?
Of his early childhood, other than the 5th grade incident where a liar’s pants caught on fire, nothing was really out of the ordinary for Joshua.

Personality

Joshua is quiet, and unassuming, bottling his emotion instead of letting it out. He has somewhat of a dry sense of humor, and much prefers British humor to the likes of Benny Hill. Beyond that, he has a bad habit of making light of things that he probably shouldn’t when he’s nervous, and at times speaking before he thinks.
As far as personality types go, you could consider Joshua an ISTP (http://www.personalitypage.com/ISTP.html).

Appearance

Joshua is Caucasian, an awkward 6’2” tall, his hair is brown and curly, though typically cut too short to matter. He wears a long black leather coat and a black Stetson fedora with just about everything, whether it matches or not. He also only wears leather shoes (typically black), dubbed “old man shoes” by his students. Beyond that there is nothing really about him that would allow you to pick him out of a police line-up.
Power
Summary: Molecular Manipulation (on a macro level)

Molecular Manipulation: 10 points.
Using the natural energy generated by his body, Joshua found that he could manipulate molecules, even at a distance, to an extent. A side effect to this ability is that Joshua has a better understanding of molecular interactions.
To aid him with his power, Joshua has a few special capacitors that release their charge all at once instead of at a steady pace that he can charge to supply extra power to his abilities.

Training:

Growing up in Texas, Joshua’s father taught him about the finer things in life, namely hunting, fishing, and football. Joshua is a natural shot with a rifle (physics), though the monotony of fishing bored him to no end. And, his father had high hopes for him on the gridiron altar known as Texas Football, but that dream was quickly lost when Joshua failed to “fill out” and a lack of speed relegated him to the bench.

Wealth/Holding/Titles:

Tenured professor at NYU, secret abandoned subway station laboratory, and enough money to afford living in NYC.

The convection diminished while the hurricane accelerated toward the New Jersey coast,[28] and the hurricane was no longer tropical by 2300 UTC on October 29.[29] An hour later, Sandy made landfall about 5 miles (8 km) southwest of Atlantic City,[30] with winds of 90 mph (150 km/h).

So official landfall (when the eye moves ashore) was roughly between 7pm and 9pm on Oct. 29 EST.

He also ordered mandatory evacuations for Zone A, which comprises Lower Manhattan, the Coney Island-Brighton Beach-Red Hook areas of Brooklyn, the entire Rockaways peninsula, most of Staten Island, and the City Island/Throg's Neck areas of the Bronx. All these areas are near coastlines or waterways.[114] On October 28, officials activated the city's coastal emergency plan, with subway closings and the evacuation of residents in areas hit during Hurricane Irene in August 2011. More than 76 evacuation shelters were open around the city.[106]

Mandatory Evacs for all of these within the city...just FYI

Okay, so in the IC, there are no effects of the hurricane felt yet, like rain or winds or anything, right?

drack, just a heads up, I've made a few more minor adjustments to my character's backstory (added why he's in NYC, upped his age to 21, and changed the explanation for why he's a successful investor).

Just wondering, are the 7 people who have characters in here the only ones technically in the game then?

pretty sure two days before would look normal. you might be able to taste it coming in the air, but it would be subtle, and chances are you wouldn't notice. :smalltongue:

OK

And yes, unless someone is quickly tossing one up to squeeze into the game now which would totally be cool, though I'm gonna assume that those who can't throw that much up in half a week won't have much time... :smalltongue:

I'm rather concerned that these folks know I was getting into his head, or that he was able to throw off the probe. Telepathy is one of those powers that is usually stealthy, and the idea was "crush his puny mind"

drack
2012-11-08, 08:13 PM
True, but you switched from using it stealth to "battle of the minds" when you assaulted the man's mind bringing all your psychic powers to bare. The second man you're not sure how he noticed without the first man saying so, but also recall that you divided telepathy as a small inkling of your power, with emphasis on it being lesser in your mentioning only having the ability to "nudge" in terms of control with it. Now mind you a nudge can go a long ways, but it won't ever turn a paranoid person trusting for instance. :smalltongue: Also remember that the real strength in a "nudge" is that it's weak enough that ideally they don't notice. Mind you when their attention is on you, they're paranoid, and a slightly stronger thought flicks through their mind that you are their friend, then chances are they'll notice if they know that people who can do so exist, otherwise they're likely to dismiss it and put t out of mind by focusing on the opposite. :smallwink:

Sure. Sorry about that. I got the impression that he had knowledge of his abilities. I'll edit soon.

No worries. I think you'll find a powerful, perhaps abnormally so, mind at least.

Ok. And where are the people and the cart wreck in relation to things?

Cart s a short ways down the track, one rail is in the thin man's hand (after he physically ripped it out from underneath the handcar), the thin man is walking towards you, the big man is standing by the hole, and the girl is standing a good few steps from him, but not advancing.

The handcar is on the track a ways down, though as railways commonly have a rail on each side, and the one is missing it is lopsided having spilled three bags, and the front wheel is physically touching the next segment of rail on that side (which stopped the car causing the second jolt).

zagman505
2012-11-11, 01:51 PM
And we're next to the cart? With us facing the guy in the suit, is the cart at our side, between us and suit man, behind us?

drack
2012-11-11, 02:22 PM
It's a hand cart (the one with the level in the middle to make it move), Jules carried you onto it, and when you started moving the thin man ripped out the rail.

2012-11-11, 02:31 PM
Oh, so we're still on it?

Unless you intentionally did not catch yourself when it stopped. :smalltongue:

And I must say... considering that he stashed seven bags down there in two distinct locations and knew where to find a handcar and functional track... I really wouldn't be surprised if the old man did frequent the waterways. :smalltongue:

Wealth: She's got an iPhone, a ~$25k a year salary, crappy apartment with a friend, and a pile of college debt. Not much more. Probably a tazer in her purse.

I was originally planning on coming into the IC thread on my way out of a party in town - I live a little bit further inland - with tipsiness to justify investigating something clearly dangerous/wacky, but I think it's the weekend so maybe I'm using accrued time off to get out of having to work during the hurricane rush... Could be coming into town to hang out with friends. Not really sure how to get involved with abandoned subway stuff or why I would strike up a conversation with random people at mcdonalds, but if there's a particular time that would be apt to join in, I'm interested.

People who have lived through the ages of myth-> yes

drack
2012-11-12, 08:03 AM
Nope, he's referring to the one where after that I as DM interject.

"As you attempt to rescue everyone the bank robbers shoot you for moving after they told you not to move. Your shirt quickly turns crimson as your lifeblood flows from your shoulder, and the room about you begins to dim."

Edit: normally, yes. :smalltongue:

GuyFawkes
2012-11-12, 08:39 AM
But the effect is instantaneous. So the moment she feels something, it would be too late. Even if she can phase through things or become incorporeal, she should be headbutting me in her undies and without her knives. :smallwink:

drack
2012-11-12, 08:43 AM
then finally the big man's, stopping him in his tracks.

Before he even finished stopping the big man's clothing's time, he began his motion...

This implies it's not-quite-instantaneous. :smallwink:

Also Oi, lets keep this PG :smalltongue: (mind you undies are cloths too, and can be rather uncomfortable to be held in place by :smalltongue:)

GuyFawkes
2012-11-12, 08:50 AM
Right.

And lol. No, as I said, he has to see the thing he can affect with his powers, and he has that limit of 8 separate objects at a time. So between the 3 of them, he uses up 6 already (2 for top and bottom pieces, 5 if the chick has one piece dress on) so even if her undies are showing, he'd be wasting uses on them.

EDIT: make that 8 if he were able to stop the knives. so no worries on undies freezing.

2012-11-12, 08:54 AM

drack
2012-11-12, 04:35 PM

Demon king is to the good Professor, Mr. Blake. :smallwink:

Ah, that would be a half-line of Blak's post that was misplaced, missed, replaced, and never found. :smalltongue:

IT doesn't really match her character description... and she already said that she was coming out, so I am assuming it is a different person.

Wait. You guys are out on the street? That's where we are too.:smalltongue:

Can I get a better description of the pireced boy grabbing us? Are the peircings boring barbell piercings or dangly or safety pins or what? IS he waering a choaker, boots or shoes, etc.

drack
2012-11-16, 06:13 AM
All of the above, though the safety pins seem a lesser element. he is wearing black jeans that got torn on the out edges held together with safety pins a few spiked cuffs/collars, a black T with some sort of zombie-puppy on it, spiked green hair long out of style, and a mixture of barbell and hanging piercings, with a few other sorts, though no hoops.

Taxi to nowhere-special
It's a relatively peaceful street, filled with apartments. (I'm probably bending reality here though I could not be) At the address you find a standard 7 story building.

Hmm, are you possibly referring to the address the old man gave? Cause we're not there yet. I believe it was on the 122nd, right?

Well, the purpose of going there is to shop, and there are no shops. :smalltongue: And this was operating on Jules' knowledge that that particular place has lots of shops.

drack
2012-11-18, 09:33 AM
Ah, Truth be told I think of many areas of NYC as residential :smalltongue:

I suppose we'll go with the actual geography, truth is there are apartments around, so you can ignore them and go for the shops as easily as the other way around :smalltongue:

@Drack

I would have tried to take Ethan to the closest resturant. He said he ran down the street a bit, so I had assumed it is not the same one where he threw the table. Is that what you are thinking too?

@ cgrela - yeah your post makes sense so no problem. I think if you hadn't ninja'd me last time, this story would be way different.

Anyway, off to bed for me.

drack
2012-11-18, 09:53 AM
I assumed the same one as he wasn't running in his best form and you had mentioned Dill being a bit quick which would mean you'd have caught up quickly enough, so the closest restaurant is likely the same :smalltongue:

Edit: ah yes and Guy the apartment yes was the one, but that was more of a loose-ended if you're heading over to check it out :smalltongue: (it is rather close after all)

I should have made it clear. James wasn't physically reaching out, he was doing so telekinetically. You can't actually grab someone's larynx like I described.

DaedalusK71
2012-11-19, 09:40 AM
So, the kid is a.) walking normally on a twisted ankle and b.) still moving after James has TK'd him into a meat puppet?

Ah, that would change things slightly :smalltongue:
Edit; though yes he is walking on the ankle.

@Daedalusk: would James be able to hear what is going on in Ethan's mindspace?

DaedalusK71
2012-11-20, 06:32 PM
@cgrela - Good question. I am leaning toward no. It's more of a digital yell than a telepathic one. Though I would say that you could certainly pick up on his panic, that should be coming through pretty clearly.

How many slaps do you think it would take to wake Ethan up?

50-100

And do you think the crowd in the cafe would jump me before I got to that number?
