View Full Version : Base Class Challenge XIV Voting Thread

2012-11-08, 10:52 AM
Welcome to the voting thread for Base Class Challenge XIV, Champions and Mooks (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=257051)! Voting will consist of each voter giving a first, second, and third place vote for three separate base classes.

A first place vote is worth three points, a second place vote is worth two points, and a third place vote is worth one point. You may not vote for your own class.

You are encouraged to include reason with your votes, though this is not absolutely required.

The class that ends up with the most points wins the challenge contest. Voting starts now and will continue until 23:59 on November 25th.

*Given that the legion magus itself is completed and only additional feats that were intended to be created but weren't were left out, it's included, since this is a base class contest, not a "finish what you intended to finish" contest.

1 - Sublime Soldier by Quellian-dyrae. I really like this, and am currently making a horde of SS troglodytes to use against my PCs. :smallamused: Also love the large amount of fluff.

2 - Shade Channeler by Silva Stormrage. Very nice, a variant Dread Necromancer using spell points and just overall coolness. I like the tactics, those are pretty awesome.

3 - Legion Magus by malonkey1. This was tough, there wasn't another standout like the two above, but this was pretty straightforward and solid.

2. Sublime Soldier by Quellian-dyrae - Just. Yes.

3. Updraft by dspeyer - Very nice concept.

1st: Guardian Angel: Really cool fluff. Lots of feats and lots of choice between different Guardian Angel build. Really fits with it's flavor
2nd: Ley Engineer: Awesome fluff and really cool mechanic with pulses and plans.
3rd: Sublime Solider: Love the fluff and it works really well as a solider type. It would be interesting to have a low magic campaign setting with 9 countries constantly at war, each focusing on a particular discipline.

1st - Guardian Angel: Very interesting take on the classic role of the tank. Easily playable in a standard adventuring scenario, but effective in a war-scale role as well.

2nd - Ley Engineer: I like the premise of this class a lot, and the mechanics are solid.

3rd - Shade Channeler: Has some pretty cool mechanics with its spirit powers, plus hordes of undead.

1. Celebrant: I like the abilities, esp. ceremonies. Sort of like group invocations...

2. Ley Engineer: Sweet mechanic, interesting idea, but seems a tad difficult to learn.

3. Self-Made Legion: Interesting flavor.
