What do folks think of the urban druid from dragon compedium, seems like a good inter city class, but bad for the traveling adventurer.

From a power perspective, just use the regular Druid and pick more city-styled stuff; the Urban Druid gives up a lot of stuff for not very much gain (the spell list is much more restricted and Urban Wildshape is terrible, as well as kind of silly restrictions on a Druid's already-restricted armor and weapon uses.) Urban Companion is kind of nifty; if I wanted an 'Urban Druid', I'd probably just ask my DM if I could ACF in the Urban Companion for the usual Animal Companion and go from there.

In an RP/fluff perspective, I don't think it does a good enough job justifying itself; it doesn't explain very well why the normal druid can't be 'urban' and why the Urban Druid represents the 'caretaker of a city' thing better. It would also be better done as a set of ACFs or possibly substitution levels instead of a full distinct class, IMO.

Gargantuan tables ftw.
