When I try to charge my rechargeable xbox 360 controller with it plugged in all I see is a red dot on the charger. I have kept the charger in for at least 5 days but all is the same. Just 1 red dot on the charger. The controller wont come on eather. So how do I charge it with the rechargeable battery kit?

If it's the official play and charge kit you should just need to plug it in to the xbox via the cable, the light will be red when it's charging and go green when it's full, but you should still be able to use the controller while it's doing this.

If the controller isn't powering on at all but the red light is on then the battery pack is probably busted, you can try taking it out and putting it back in again and see if the controller powers on but they do wear down after a while.

Yeah, if the light is on, it should be charging.

If the light is on and your XBox is on, and your controller doesn't work, there is definitely a problem with either your controller or your battery pack. Try swapping the rechargeable battery for the original AA battery pack (if you still have it) or a battery from another controller. Even rechargeable batteries need to be replaced eventually.
