Hi, im currently playing my third campagin with my group, they're 4 players ranging from levle 6 to 8.

ive vowed to myself and them that i would not be cheap with the items and actualy roll on the tables in DMG when they found "phat lewt" and ofc it backfired, they found first of all ring of regeneration - which they sold and geared up for, and then they found something even more powereful (yes i only roll +95 when rolling items) - sold that and bought items for.

problem is that its hard to send stuff against them even though they have rediculous armor and damage - the thing is they have the same health as a level 6 would have so if i send higher level monsters on them and they actualy hit its a onehit one kill kinda scenario

any ideas?

The trick I've found with high op groups is moar foes, not bigger foes. With fewer big foes, action economy tips heavily toward the players. Also, focused attention from a single challenging foe might be killer. Instead, diversify. Spread foes out so that they aren't easily hit by one Black Tentacles, or aren't easily Cleaved. Mix and match melee and ranged support. Use debuffs, anything from nets and tanglefoot bags to Ray of Enfeeblement and Enervation. Make sure that the mooks aren't easily 1-shotted, but easily 2-shotted to require full attacks and lower mobility of melee types. Use tactical advantages such as limited mobility, limited line of sight, or easily defended choke points.

Use attrition, and if possible, keep your PCs from only having one encounter per day unless it is a big drawn out one. Make them conscience of per day abilities, especially charged items.

Mix in a few opponents who make touch attacks but don't hit very hard. Arrowhawks and Warlocks are a good example of this.

Use more no-loot opponents, or give leveled NPC opponents worthless gear (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=260909#25). Opponents could also have Vow of Poverty, especially if the PCs are evil and/or have been causing trouble.

Mix in the occasional break-your-gear, such as Rust Monsters, anything fond of Improved Sunder, or even an Adamantine Clockwork Horror from MM2.

Try sending a Dread Barbarian (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=259833) (At the bottom, the rest you need to know) at your poor, poor players.
