One thing I just recently thought of while looking at two of my cats was this;
is there such as thing as a toy/teacup cat?, Like there is for dogs?, One that lacks health problems normally associated with it's size? Both of the cats that made me wonder this are in the 7 inch to 8 inch range(measured from the shoulder), and both athletic, and act like normal cats. The female one has short black and white splotched fur, while the male has an identical fur pattern to a black and white Siberian forest cat. I found the female as a feral kitten several years ago, and the male is her kitten(from a litter of two, the other was a female, with fur like it’s mother’s, but it died due to an accident before it was an adult cat)

A bit of googling shows me that dwarf cats do exist. But they're more like daschounds (... you know... the "sausage" dog? I'm not entirely sure I remembered the name right) if the image search is any indication.

This (http://ezinearticles.com/?Teacup-Kittens---The-Worlds-Smallest-Kitten&id=1633722) site has the names of the breeds recognized as such, as well as the proper guidelines for it.

The "Napoleon" breed sounds a lot like the male one, down to his large eyes. I think the female may just be an anomaly(none of the other feral cats in the neighborhood where I lived when I found her were that small)

I have two pictures of them at the moment(well lit pictures anyway :smallsmile:);

one of both of them curled up in a spot of sunshine(they really like being near each other);

and one of just the male cat and my dog(a normal sized English black lab);

Do you mean a "Munchkin" cat? My girl & I have 2 munchkin cats which are both quite healthy. They have shorter limbs and retain a kitten-like playfulness throughout life. They're almost like permanent kittens.

Unlike most breeds, you don't breed munchkins with other munchkins. You breed them with anything else, but they still count as a breed. This is how my girl explained this to me:

Munchkin x Not-Munchkin = 50% chance a kitten is Not-Munchkin; 50% chance a kitten is Munchkin.

Munchkin x Munchkin = 25% chance a kitten is Not-Munchkin; 50% chance a kitten is Munchkin; 25% chance there is no kitten (which is sad).

They're really really cute.
