Welcome to another creative project thingy that I'll probably abandon because I'm lazy.

Let's Play Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem- Heroes of Light and Shadow.

Arceus, that's a long title.

I got to Chapter 3 on my first playthrough (Japanese), but as I just now got the Translation patch to work, I'll be playing it the in a way that I can understand it.

First thing to note: look at the difficulty screen.

Normal is a castle.

Hard is a mountain range.

Maniac is... I can't tell, but red tinge = Bad.

Lunatic is a field of discarded swords point down in the ground.

I find this Darkly Hilarious.

I'm playing it on Casual Hard, because I've always wanted to not have to worry about my units dying permanently. And it'll make it more fun.

Anyway... with the addition of the My Unit character, Herpestidae will not be playing this game...

In other news, after playing this chapter about 20 times, with Tinsley dying each time, I've decided that Hard Mode is a Dirty Whore will be starting over on Normal because the story is more important to me than any sort of cred I'd get for the difficulty level. I'll continue when I catch up to where I was.

So Herpestidae, thanks to this thread I got the patched game myself. And am playing hard mode with a swordsmaster MU; I'm currently almost done with chapter 19. Seriously, never stop using Luke, Rody, Ryan, and Catria. I'll admit I got so, so blessed with them, especially defensively (Ryan somehow capped strength and defense at level 5 promoted; it's strange yet wonderful to see him standing at over half health after taking a silver lance and a killer bow crit to the face; at level 18 unpromoted he could eat two hits from a dragon), but their growths are pretty fantastic regardless. Ryan's somehow got a higher crit rate than MU swordsmaster. Supports help; you get infinite supports in this game, though the bonuses aren't as great. Including MU, I've got five god units who can and have cleared almost entire maps by themselves with just a bit of healing.

Anyway, posted to say thanks for showing me a patch of this exists, and good luck!
