Ok, so I am about one session away from finishing my first ever D&D campaign. Started as a fighter, which was promptly turned into a vampire, then killed by a 5 headed hydra cuz DM forgot about the whole five attacks per round and the healing thing... Anyway, Rerolled as ninja, and its been fun so far.

My question is, is there a class that lets me utilize sneak attacks but with the damage output/survivability of a fighter/barbarian? My friend has the idea to to roll a dread necromancer with a sickle, so he can just go trip happy and I can sneak attack.

In Unearthed Arcana there's a Sneak Attack variant fighter. It's the same as a regular fighter, but you trade fighter bonus feats for rogue sneak attack. Is that what you're looking for?

You might also consider a rogue / swashbukler with the daring outlaw feat.

Note that creatures that are prone are not automatically vulnerable to Sneak Attack; you still need to flank them or whatever.

Thanks for the help guys. I think I'll go with the fighter variant. Almost exactly what I was looking for.

Let a wizard polymorph your rogue into a hydra. One (sneak) attack per head.
