I want to know where is a site where people post their completed characters/character sheets that I can access and look at others' sheets? I assume something like this must exist somewhere because there are thousands of people playing d&d 3.5 constantly making new characters and some must upload the information to the internet. I'm just not sure which terms to use to search for it. Specifically, I'm NOT looking for general character builds like for example Factotum 8/Chameleon 10/Swordsage 2. I'm instead asking if there's somewhere where people who have completely filled out a character sheet with a character they've played as or plan to play as complete with skill points, inventory, equipment, special defenses, etc. all filled out in detail.

I want to see a big list of hundreds or even thousands of character sheets like this I can look at character sheets that people have made of characters so I can look over it myself to get ideas for my characters equipment/inventory/spells/feats/alt character options/etc and steal tidbits of ideas or even whole characters. It's one thing to look at a handbook and get some good ideas, but it's generally easier to look at a completed character sheet with everything filled out and see that. Most example builds I see posted on forums just include a general level progression with maybe feats, but don't include skill points/inventory/equipment specifically at the specific level the character is at and it is that kind of information that I am looking for and want to know where to find. Thanks.

I'm willing to post 3 sheets for characters I am ( or did ) run, as well as some ideas.

Grath (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=401969)
Petra (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=412685)
Halau (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=459676)

I also invite you to look through the Iron Chef (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=260333) competitions, which post level-by-level builds, from 1-20, with feats, skills, and generally play notes. The link I posted was to the latest round (Round 39), there are hyperlinks to each previous round.

It would be neat to have a stickied thread here that archives peoples' characters. Like, whoever wants to just posts links to their characters at myth weavers or wherever. I'd do it.

This is a really cool idea actually, I've got some unnamed characters sitting around my D&D folder that might be finished if they were for something besides self gratification. I think a lot of people build characters for themselves but never put them out anywhere.

Yeah, I'd like a place to keep my favorite builds as well.

Well I'll post one of mine to contribute. A lvl 6 elven archer cleric. With the inventory and things filled out like this you can see a couple of things that would be easy to forget if you were making a cleric at lvl 6. For example, I allocated 25 gold for an augury focus and 25 gold for the augury material component.

Yeah, Mythweavers is the only site I can think of, but you have to know the person to get access to their public character sheets. This makes it much harder to browse through character sheets freely. The best way to find ideas for builds is through giantitp and google, pretty much the easiest way to compile any list of character ideas.

I recommend taking a look through the recruitment threads http:// http://www.giantitp.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=51 on the play by post board. Those are a great place to see completed character sheets for 3.5 and other systems.

You can also look at the OOC or IC threads for a game, often the first post or shortly after has all the characters in that game linked up.

both Mythweavers and Pifro Host web based character sheets, some will be public (accessable by anyone) and others won't.

Just play with the number at the end of the web address string to investigate character sheets, if it says access denied then the sheet isn't public, try again.

Pifro has 2510 public characters out of 6621 registered characters, 2000+ characters have been deleted so will also not show a character sheet if you type in the address.

Oh hey, are you the same Mookie that writes Dominic Deegan?

I'd suggest going to Myth-weavers and taking a look through their character archives. Aside from that general advice, what are you looking for in particular? Build ideas? A place to store your own sheets?

@Acanous No, I'm not Dominic Deegan Mookie

What I'm looking for in particular is something that apparently doesn't exist. A searchable and browsable database of D&D 3.5 character sheets of all levels. I think it would be helpful to have because being able to see the filled out character sheets people make for different levels and character types with the items, spells, and skills all selected.

Having a database like this could make the process of making your own characters very quickly because you could just open a few character sheets that are of the level and same archetype (fighter/caster/skillful) that you want to play and see what's in the inventory of those 5 or 6 people. Or if you're making a lvl 9 Sorc you could open 7 lvl 9 Sorc character sheets and see what spells those 7 people selected and quickly look them over and pick out the best ones for your own spell selection. Or if you're in a situation where you are playing a high level campaign and everyone in the party is dieing at least once every session, you could just look through the appropriate level character sheets and just use that without the time investment of making one yourself. Or if you want a follower through leadership and don't want to make the character yourself, etc. Or you want to test how some monster runs against a full party of a certain level. I can see a lot of uses for something like that that a lot of people would use and find helpful.

Mythweavers and Pifro have a lot of characters that are set as public and therefore viewable by anyone but I don't think they have a way to search them.

From what I can tell on mythweavers, the first viewable character sheet is at sheetid=025 to and the last one is at 475,805. Most Sheet id's are invalid though, either because it's private or someone has deleted the data. I'm estimating roughly that only about 1/10 sheet id's are publicly viewable and valid.

On Pifro I went through sheetid's 001 to 500 and got about 222 valid character sheets. Basically what I did was type in

http://pifro.com/pro/view.php?id=001 then
http://pifro.com/pro/view.php?id=002 then
http://pifro.com/pro/view.php?id=003 etc, all the way to 500
when I reached a filled out character sheet I pressed ctrl+s and saved it using the format ECL Class Race #Sheet ID.

So for example http://pifro.com/pro/view.php?id=004
was 07 Fighter #004. I generally didn't include the race in the file name unless it was something weird - not in the PHB. Then I organized the files by level. It turns out most people make low level characters at least if sheetid's 001 to 500 are representative of the general population.

Then I uploaded that. 222 character sheets are only about 15 MB

Pifro Sheet ID 001 to 500 (http://www.filedropper.com/pifrosheetid001to500)

So that's only SheetId's 501 through 8565 that are left to do for pifro and only sheetId's 025 to 475805 that are left on mythweavers. I would probably go insane if I tried to save and organize that many though. Anybody who thinks this is a good idea want to do some? If everyone went through around 500 sheetid's it would take around 1000 people to go through all 500,000 ish. But I don't think that all the character sheets in the world are required for this. You could get a really respectable sized database even with only going through 100,000 sheetid's total.
