I've got two really annoying viruses (Or one that does two different things) that have infected my computer, and are in my browser. The one makes a side-ad pop up and here's what that looks like

http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb443/Zernobog888/Helpwithproblem.png The ad has something to do with a "Jeetyetmedia.com"

I've got adblock so the ad itself doesn't actually pop up, just the frame.

The second problem is, I'll have my mouse pointer over something, and it will say something like "Similar deals, sponsored by superfish"

I've run virus scans with Malwarebytes, Avast, and Spybot, and found nothing the last time this happened. I guess I'll try again and see if anything new pops up, but I'm not expecting anything.

Based on this page's description, this looks like what you have. Maybe it can help you. (http://www.infobarrel.com/How_Do_I_Get_Rid_of_Jeetyet_Media_How_to_get_rid_o f_Jeetyet_Media_on_Your_PC)

I've got something similar, on my filly's laptop. Best I can figure is it isn't a virus, or whatnot, but an add-on/extension/task bar and thus a legitimate, if invasive, program. Mine causes audial adds to play, out of nowhere, if the system is connected to the Internet at all. I haven't bothered to remove it since its not my laptop (and mute solves the issue) but they're becoming more prevalent.

I had something that caused Google search links to be occasionally redirected to ads, and it was a pain to get rid of because a variety of virus and spyware scans never caught it. I finally tracked it down to a rogue browser extension and some malware. The one scanner that finally worked for me was Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool (http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/malware-removal.aspx), so you might give that a try.

For the moment the problem seems to be fixed, thank you.

What did the Christopher Nolan say to the Batman?:
Let's reboot this sucka!

Hope it doesn't come to this, but I just had to make that joke. And if it does come to this, I hope you backed up your files. And if you didn't, really sorry.

Justplayitloud's link is right - if you go into control panel - programs then sort by date you'll find a batch of things you can uninstall to get rid of that jeety one (going to the website allows you to turn them off in the meantime).
Probably something similar for the other one too.
