So, i always hear people talk about specialist wizards, sometime selven generalists, but never do i hear people talk about Domain Wizards.

I just heard about them today, but am i missing something? Are they so bad compared to baring an entire school or two that no one ever brings them up?

No. It's because they're Wizard+. Granted, it's a small +, but it's a strictly upgraded wizard. Specialization or the Elven Generalist substitution levels still cost the Wizard something - banned schools, a racial pick or some such. The Domain wizard doesn't give anything up. It's strictly a power boost. You can read the mechanics about them Here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#wizardVariantDomainWiz ard).

Plus if you combine Elven generalist and Domain Wizard you can end up with a Level One Game Breaker.

I suspect it's because they're in UA, and some people don't like UA variants. That said, I've heard a lot about them, so maybe you've just missed the discussions?

well from what i read from them, was that since the generalist gives up the ability to specialize, and the domain wizard gives up specializationas well so you couldnt have them both.

Well thats the point. Since they both can't specialize, they go hand in hand.

Nah, one requires that you not BE a specialist, and the other gives up the ability TO specialize.

Having lost the ability to specialize, you cannot be a specialist, ergo you can meet both requisites.

eh, i still wouldnt pick both up anyways. to me it just feels like they both are a "you can have one or the other" thing.

That's how most people feel, and is why it's not something that's mentioned every post. There are certain levels of cheese even optimizers don't use.

It was explained to me once as...

Domain wizards are like strapping C4 to a stack of dynomite... You don't really change the end result but you do have more fire power.

Punpun was never meant to be played, and even the author said it would suck all the enjoyment out of a game.
