So, would prestiging be good with a beguiler, and what classes? I am starting at level 10, and have yet to even choose a race. All I know is I'm beguilering.

I've looked at a few sites, googling and such, but figured I might as well gather your opinions.

Edit: Feat suggestions would be ok, as this is my first time beguilering.

Hmmm most people will suggest straight level 20 Beguiler. They are fairly powerful.

However if you have your heart set on taking PrCs, see if your GM will allow you to take the Enchantment adoption of a Nightmare Spinner. According to the class fluff, a Nightmare-spinner Enchanter can over come creatures with immunity to mind-affecting capabilities. It a good way of getting passed those immune to mind affects, creatures you are going to run into late game.

Ad for feats, I personally like going Silver-browed Human for my race, then getting the feats, Eschewed Materials, Cold Casting (Frostburn), Draconic Aura (Dragon Magic) and Cold Focus (Frostburn)/ Greater Cold Focus (Frostburn). By level twenty this combo gives all your spells a +6 to there DCs.

Let's discuss good beguiler prcs anyway.

UM if you want to go wizard(precocious apprentice)1/beguiler4/ultimate magus X
and if memory serves you can get into shadowcraft mage as well, and that is fun times.

Depends on your AC and the DM's attack bonus. You will get books thrown at you.

The most common beguiler dip is a single level of Mindbender. This gives you Telepathy and lets you qualify for mindsight. Now you know where enemies are, even through walls and can telepathically tell your allies.

The other reason for the 1 level dip is advanced learning. Normally, you gain it at odd numbered levels. With the dip, you delay it by one level so you can gain higher level spells with it.

I'm going for Beguiler with mindbender dip on my char now.

Seems like a fun build.

Shadowcraft \ killer gnome \ shadowweave \ what have you is better suited for gnome wiz illusion specialist imo.

Hi,

This is a little off topic but when you convert the Beguiler class from 3.5 to Pathfinder do you use the original d6 hit die or up it to d8 as per the Pathfinder conversion rules? Some classes it doesn't work with; the Duskblade comes to mind.
