Can the Artificer use his Craft-XP reserve to supplement the contingency? Assuming that it is a multiclassing art/wiz

Why it should not work:
It is not an item.
It is not very smart, since it is not permanent.

why it should work:
Craft Contingent Spell is an 'Item creation' feat.
It uses pretty much the same formula to calculate cost.

I know that it is probably no RAW, may be; but would you allow it in a game? (ignoring how broken it is already)

Actually, Craft Contingent Spell does have the [Item Creation] descriptor.

Edit: Additionally, Contingent Spells are listed under the New Types of Items subsection of the Magic Items chapter of Complete Arcane.

I realize that I repeated a bit of what you said, but I just want to emphasize that contingent spells are items both by RAW and apparently by RAI.

Yeah, it's pretty clearly allowed by RAW. If I were allowing the feat, and artificers (in general I don't allow either), I'd have no problem combining them.

The cool thing about contingencies is you can set them to your own free actions, so if you like you can cast off 20 spells in a single turn.

The problem is this is expensive and time consuming, so you probably don't want to do that. But still, the chance to say "Pew Pew Pew" and have 20 orbs of force fly out would be awesome.
