In a friends's campaign that he'll be starting soon, I'll be playing a Fighter/Wizard type character. We're starting at level 7, so I've got Fighter 2/Wizard 4/Spellsword 1. I know I need to take all five levels of Abjurant Champion next, but I have no idea what race I should be or what feats I should take.

Any assistance would be wonderful.

You might like to try the classic Wiz 6/Swiftblade (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/prc/20070327) 9/Abjurant Champion 5 build... using a Sun Elf or Gray Elf.

It has a +17 BAB and 9th level spells at level 20.

Taking that route wouldn't really let me be gish-y for a while yet, which is what I want to be able to do right off the bat.

Human or Gray/Fire/Snow Elf, and consider starting out Human or Elf Paragon (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/racialParagonClasses.htm) 1/ Fighter 1/ Wizard 2/ Human or Elf Paragon 2/ Spellsword 1 instead. Use the Martial Wizard (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#wizard) variant to get another Fighter bonus feat instead of Scribe Scroll. If you do go with two Fighter levels, get the Dungeoncrasher ACF in Dungeonscape and use it with Melf's Unicorn Arrow from PH2.

After, before, or during Abjurant Champion 5 in that build it's good to take Incantatrix 4, to use its metamagic abilities to Persist your buffs with a spellcraft check. You'll want Item Familiar (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/magic/itemFamiliars.htm) for Invest Skill Ranks or to have a custom item with a high Competence bonus to Spellcraft so you can take ten on those checks and always succeed. That is an absurdly high-op path to take, so switch it for maybe some Paragnostic Apostle or Divine Oracle if your group doesn't play at that level of optimization.

You can get the Iron Will prerequisite for Incantatrix for 3,000 gp instead of spending a feat on it by saying you visited the Otyugh Hole detailed in CS. You can also get the Skill Focus prerequisite for Divine Oracle for 2,000 gp from the Frog God's Fane in that same book. If you go with Paragnostic Apostle, definitely get Mind Over Matter and Spatial Awareness, and I'd probably stop at two levels of that unless there's something else you really want. The end of your build can be filled up with Eldritch Knight levels.

What does snow elf do, or if you can't tell me that where is it from?

Snow elves are from Frostburn, and they get all the standard elf traits, except their ability mods are +2 Dex and -2 Cha
