What are Public Groups?

Title says it all. When I view my profile, In the bottom right corner it says:

Group Memberships
Old Displayname:
Were-Sandwich


Were-Sandwich is not a member of any public groups




The Black bit says "Group Memberships".

Does this mean we can start our own groups and stuff?

Comrade Gorby: That function is not currently enable, as stated in one of the stickied threads above. Once the other issues with the new boards - ie. avatars, adding back in certain BB code, fixing any bugs, and so forth - are fixed, we may look into the possibility of having forum groups, though there are no plans currently to enable them.

In other words, check back in a month or so once everything else is fixed and we'll look into what the options here are.
