I was reading through this class in Expanded Psionics Handbook. It looks awesome!!

Please tell me cool things to do with it!

Also the only bad thing I can see is the lower hitdie (d8). For a strongly melee oriented class that is generally bad, but seeing as this guy has psionic powers, it seems like a fair tradeoff.

What are your opinions?

:)

The Vigor power makes up for the low hit die; for bonus points, use it, Share Pain, and a psicrystal to make yourself really tough to hurt.

are those all in the expanded psionics handbooks?

:)Have you checked out the psychic warrior's handbook? (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=162701) There's some good information in there.

I also like taking the Shape Soulmeld feat (from Magic of Incarnum) for the phase cloak and binding it using the Psionic Open Chakra power (from the same book). Grab an animal companion using the Wild Cohort feat (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20031118a) and give it the Shape Soulmeld feat as well. You can ride around ethereally for some really nice charging shenanigans.

Not to mention this. (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=2926.msg97988#msg97988)

Yeah, PsyWar is generally a pretty nice class. It's hard to do anything really stupidly broken with it (except lots and lots of touch attack damage, maybe, but that's not really any worse than any other decent melee), and it's not too difficult to make it useful in a lot of situations with a decent power selection and perhaps an Expanded Knowledge or two. Its main limitation is a cripplingly low number of base PP and a slightly annoying chassis (¾ BAB, d8 HD, 2+int skill points, not many class skills). However, its powers and bonus psionic/fighter feats make up for the chassis easily.

A d8 hd isn't that bad. It's only 1hp per level less than the fighter's d10, so basically just ask yourself what improved toughness is worth (not much by most estimations).

The powers are obviously what makes the class function, and while the powerpoints are fairly low, consider the fact that, unlike a psion, you will be using 2-3 powers/encounter, because your powers on their own rarely have a direct effect on combat. Instead your powers make you more effective at combat. The reduced bab is only annoying when it comes to delayed iterative attacks, and can be easily mitigated by the Slayer PRC (full bab and one lost manifester level, for the low cost of the feat track).

If you want to sample a little cheese to go with this class, I reccomend psionic lion's charge (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=263658). Infact even without the cheesy augmentation shenanigans, it's pretty good (can't argue pounce).

This class has numerous avenues of attack to pursue, whether you want to use natural or manufactured weapons (though if all you are after is natural weapons, I would recommend totemist), ranged or melee, tripper, charger, grappler, or anything number of other routes you might want to pursue.

The absolute simplest psi-warrior build I ever encountered was Psionic Body, Expanded Knowledge: Astral Construct, and Psionic Talent for all the other feats. Between Vigor and Hostile Empathic Transfer that character had a good bit of staying (and hitting) power.
