Alright so here the short and skinny of it. I am playing a wizard in a magic item light game. I am looking for a way to protect myself from death effects.

I know there are some items and divine spells out there but I’d prefer to find a arcane spell instead.
Magic items are rare, and my UMD check is crap.

Is there anything like death ward for the arcane caster?

Becoming Necropolitan (Libris Mortis) would make you permanently immune to death effects.

You can probably use Arcane Disciple to get yourself Death Ward.

Necro Wizard with Faerie Mysteries Initiate and Human Heritage (protip: learn your immunities, and figure out which effects specifically affect the undead type).

What sort of level are we talking here?

Yeah, dude, we need your level to accurately recommend spells.

Oops sorry. I can cast up to level 6 spells right now. No banned schools.

Yeah, Arcane Disciple should fix you up nicely.

I recommend getting a Cleric to cast it on you, if you have any party Clerics who are even remotely trustworthy.

Greater Blink (CA, Sorc/Wiz 5) is like Blink, but doesn't interfere with your own spells. Cuts the chance of being affected by just about anything (including save/die spells) in half.
