The Sentry Ooze template gives an ooze Int 2. That makes it lose some benefits from being Mindless, but what does it actually gain?
Skills and feats are the obvious things, but other than that? Int 2 is still just animal intelligence, so it's not like you can give it complicated commands or anything like that. Can they be trained like animals? And how does an "intelligent" ooze behave differently from a mindless ooze?

Oozes themselves should be played as dull-witted as possible: That food is closer than the other food, so go to close food first. If it's beyond the level of logic of a Roomba, it's beyond an ooze. Tactics should not be a thing on the ooze side of an encounter, making a lot of them relatively harmless unless something else conspires to make them a threat.

With an Int score, however, they can start employing tactics, identifying which enemy is a threat, which one is vulnerable, etc. You might have a group of sentry oozes acting as a pack to channel PCs into a kill zone, or maybe they stalk the party, waiting until they're already engaged with another threat before striking.

So, on paper, having an Int score for an ooze doesn't look that great, but in practice there should be a significant spike in the threat level.
