I'm playing around with a Wild Shape Ranger build, and looking at a couple variants from Dragon... namely Wild Defender (Dr324) and good ol' Mystic Ranger (Dr336)... but neither article seems to address what the ranger's caster level is. Wild Defender starts casting at 1st level with 0th-level spells, but straight rangers don't get a caster level until 4th, when it become half their ranger level. Not sure how this would apply with Wild Defender/Mystic Ranger, though... has this been elucidated anywhere else, or am I missing something?
