Hey, I DM for a group in a self-created game world, and for a while, we played 4.0. Primarily this was because I had access to a 4.0 character creator, but it was also the first system I played with and was therefore the most comfortable with it. After looking into Pathfinder, though, I've decided I like it a lot more, so I'm (agonizingly) slowly switching my group over. There's a problem, though.

See, the dragonborn (the 4.0 race, not the thing from TES) play a fairly prominent role in the background of our story, one of the players is a dragonborn. Normally I would just switch to a different race, but I need the dragonborn's connection to actual dragons for a plot point.

Anyway, I've rambled on long enough. Does anyone have a homebrew or third party Dragonborn race that is similar enough to the one in 4.0 that I can use?

The Pathfinder SRD (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/) has a handly little Race Creator (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/arg-creating-new-races), from which you can build a new race. The base and core Races in Pathfinder are between 9 and 11 points.

Edit to fix broken link.

D&D 3.5 has the stats for dragonborn in Races of the Dragon. Mind you, these work more like a template, and are fluff-wise strongly connected to Bahamut.

For Pathfinder, you should simply choose the one or two stats most approprate for the race, a possible penalty, and then take the rest out of the Races of the Dragon-book.

You can use the 3.5 Dragonborn which is in the Races of the Dragon. It is pretty similar though not exactly the same as the 4e one, the main difference is that you aren't born a Dragonborn, you become one through the Ritual of Rebirth and select one aspect of the dragon, Heart (breath weapon that scales with level), flight (gives you wings that at first only work for gliding; but at level 10 or 11, can't remember exactly when, you get true flight) or Mind (improved senses and I think you get blindsight or at least blindsense at higher levels).

Thanks, you guys. I'm looking into Races of the Dragon, and looking at the SRD page for creating a race right now. I'm having trouble opening your other link, Sayt, but I appreciate the help nonetheless.

Here's another link to the same content, then. (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/advancedRaceGuide/raceBuilder.html)
