Does a Changeling who uses Wizard substitution levels, and takes the dual specialization, gain the abilities for both Illusion and Trans using Master specialist?

This goes into the FAQ section, but I think the rules are fairly silent on it. So I think that you should have to choose, but I think by RAW you can't qualify. This is because you technically aren't a specialist wizard with the Changeling wizard substitution.

The Dual Specialization ability is referred to throughout as specialization. It says it replaces the standard Wizard's specialization option, but not the ability to specialize at all; it just replaces one option with another. I'd say they can pretty definitively qualify.

As for what happen when they do... the various Esoterica abilities say that the character gains 'an' ability based on their specialized school, so they'd only get one benefit. They could choose Illusion one time and Transmutation the next, though.

I don't see much of a problem granting both esoterica options at each applicable level- they only apply when casting spells of that school, so it's not like they stack.

That said, I aslo believe you'd have to pick.
