There are many Christmas/holiday songs out there, which run the gamut from the classics, such as "White Christmas" or "Jingle Bells" to the...interesting, such as "Grandma got ran over by a reindeer"
What I want to know, playground is what is your favorite Christmas/holiday from the second category?

I'm torn between This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjwiwcUKK1c) and this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35WgpMq6e3o).

There's a whole selection of these (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6CD76F0C71E5B447) out there. Not quite on the level of Shoggoth on the Roof, but pretty good none the less.

Those would be my favorites. Makes all the Christmas music that gets played at work more bearable, since I can just recite the Lovecraft-equivalent in my head while it plays. Fishmen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tTHn2tHhcI) is particularly good for that, since they play "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" a whole lot (and because it's so goofy). Though I think my favorites are Carol of the Old Ones (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ftld7Ohojg) and Death to the World (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptP0OR-e7rI&feature=related).

Without a doubt a song by Ajattara that would be in english something like: "Santa Claus hits and bites". It's somewhat extreme. I'm not actually sure if it would be okay to post a link here.

The chorus goes something like: "Everyone will be beaten up."

My hands down favorite is "The Night Santa went Crazy" By Weird Al Yankovich... my fiance hates it with a passion though since the one thing she loves about Christmas is the Carols

"Jingle Bells" is in that second category. If you actually listen to the lyrics, it's not a happy song. The horse pulling the sleigh is malnourished and destined for misfortune. After the driver picks up his girlfriend, he goes too fast and flips the sleigh. They crash horribly. It sounds cheerful because of the tune, but it's a rather morbid song.

It's not "irreverent" questionable so much as it's "horrifically grim" questionable, but the Lyke-Wake Dirge (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R46Aue8R_Fc) is one of my favorite "winter" songs.

It feels very old and cold and haunting, but the Christian imagery gives it a weird Christmas-y feel as well (at least for me).

Rodney Carrington has one about a snowman, but it’s not quite safe for work, so you’ll have to find it yourself.

Personally i hate silly Christmas songs that just change the words on old Christmas carols. it's lazy, boring, unoriginal and irritating.

Fairytale of New York (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9jbdgZidu8). It isn't Christmas for me until I've heard Kirsty MacColl and Shane MacGowan trade insults (including one that's rather NSFW, but made funny by the power of Irishness).

Outside some previously mentioned such as the Grinch, Fairytale, Weird Al, and a few of the Old Ones I've always enjoyed Nuttin' For Christmas (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_7xqqt1Vgs)

Baby It's Cold Outside.

Yeah.

I was just going to mention it. Because like a lot of older "classic" songs (not just Christmas ones), once you translate the innuendo, they're usually either very creepy, very nasty, or both.
