View Full Version : A Question about Traveller 2300ad

As you probably know Mongoose Publishing have released the Traveller 2300ad setting for use with their Traveller core rules and an interesting point has been raised and I'm hoping some of you here thats interested in Traveller can help resolve.

There's been talk about how characters can afford to run ships in the setting since those listed don't seem to have been designed with that in mind unlike the core rules where they used old favourites like the scout, the far trader and so on so I was wondering if any of you who have run T2300 would like to suggest alternatives or how players can run character's who own ships in that setting how they can afford to do so especially if you've introduced house rules or just plain advice even if not strictly to do with T2300 since you have your own experiences to draw upon.

Would you just design your own version of the ships from the core rules using the T2300 setting rules?

Did they use the T2300 setting ships believing that like the core rules they are the ones to better emphasise the setting rather than going for ships that would have the most usefulness?
