Jolt
Evocation
Level: Sorcerer/Wizard 2
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Touch
Target: One Creature
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes

With a few words and gestures, energy sparks between your outstreached fingers and discharges into the creature you touch.

The subject takes 1d4 +1 per two caster levels (maximum +5) points of electricity damage. It may then choose to make a second saving throw against any mind affecting effects it is being subjected to and gains a bonus on the saves equal to the damage taken from this spell.

So...too strong/weak/copied unintentionally? It seemed to me there needed to be some sort of spell simulating grabbing a person and smacking some sense back into them.

I think it is to weak, that is like a magic missile but its a level 2 spell.

Look at the effect beyond the damage. It lets you help a charmed/dominated partner snap out of it, at the cost of dealing damage.

I believe there's already a spell with that effect, but I don't know anything about it; sorry.
