simple question..
i craft or buy a wand that has a spell stored that is casted as a swift action,
or immediate or even free...
example.. an eternal wand of feather fall
what kind of action would such a wand require to activate?
plz quote from book the ruling
thnx :)

I don't have the location off the top of my head, but it was changed in the Rules Compendium, MiC, or SpC. The casting time is the same as the spell.

The only exeption listed for a wand having a differant activation time is if the spell has a longer time, so, yes, always a standard action by RAW unless longer.
I am going off the d20 SRD here, so the Rules Compendium may say differantly.

Rules Compendium states that "Activating a spell trigger item takes the same amount of time as the casting time of the spell that the item stores."

Whether or not this applies when you play depends on whether or not the DM accepts RC as errata.

EDIT: It's on page 85.

Thanks indeed. I was going to post a question along the same lines. This is a nice revision to the core rules, as well, since some really nice spells for non-full casters happen to take less than a standard action to cast (particularly a bunch of ranger spells).

The ability to store a quickened spell in a wand is relegated to epic wands, correct?
