Intro
On a dark chilled summer night, the kings guardsmen were set upon the frontier, their eyes laid ever forward, gazing in to the shadows the crept before them. Though unseen they knew there lay an army, the likes of which this world had viewed naught once before, and with it brought shadowed winter, a darkness that overtook the world it walked. Though some men stood brave enough to walk against it, and some forced to, would fake the courage to fight this shadow, wishing ever deeper they hadn't. Prince Asher, and his guardsmen were truly brave, all stepping forth under will of self to lend sword, and shield to give time for armies to mass, so that their kin might live. Prince Asher called forth the ready, his men replying with a raising of sword and shield, an army bracing for attack, and from the shadows came a much darker reply, the sounds of the shadow forming to face it's threat, and from the shadow charged an army, if it could so be named, that would darken the ground with it's feet, and it the hearts with it's presence, though the Prince and his men would never falter, and so shadow clashed with steel, the sounds of war, and slaughter would erupt forth from this barren plain, a snow covered landscape that lay itself a background for an army's' discarded husk, sounds that would suddenly stop, and a plain that would suddenly vanish.

King Asher turned, his face a portrait of dread, his generals knew what was unspoken, Prince Asher lay dead, and the war was now a full effort of the kingdom. The king sent out the order, all armies under his command were to meet at the castle, and form together to form an army that could hold itself against the coming threat, and the king sent out another call, asking for anyone willing to fight this horde to come to the castle aswell, for anyone with an arm, and sword can be of use.

Having arrived at the castle you were quickly ushered in to a cart, any animals travelling with you were taken to the castle stables. As the cart was pulled up the hill, you were given a basic intro on meeting the king, "Bow when you enter, answer promptly, end with 'Your Magesty', bow when you leave.", as the gaurdsman droned on about other things you focus more on the sights around the city, the massive army forming outside the walls which must be numbering a few million strong at minimum, the shadowed lands to the north, where the dreaded army lays, bringing with it a sudden snowstorm, leaving a definite line between it's territory, and ours. Then your attention turns to the city, and the castle itself. The city is huge, though empty, it's outer ring made up of shops, inns, and the smaller less valuable homes, the middle and inner rings being made up of more valuable homes, museums, culture centers, graveyards, and much fancier inns. The center of it all being the castle, it's huge stone towers standing beacons of 'freedom'. It's walls defying all previous invaders, and mocking the power of siege instruments. Soon enough you pass through it's gates, under the huge main archway, and in to a shadowed courtyard. Kings Guardsmen are everywhere, standing ready for any sign of trouble, as you disembark the guardsman leading you splits you in to two groups, taking one through a small side door, and the other, of which you find yourselves in, through the main entrance.

Irtul follows along with the guard's words. Barely. The man was entirely uninteresting and irritating. Bow before this guy, and curtsy and sashay. Entirely unreasonable. "Yes, yes. That's good and all. But when do we eat? I mean fight?" He gave a smile that was entirely unfriendly and wholely menacing. "Slip of the tongue."

The guard waves his hand at your comment, "Afterwards, I think. I'm not the one who planned it all. You'll know what you need to know after you meet the King."

The halls you walk down are large, walls made of a silver and black stone, and polished to an ornate shine. Statues of old men dot the halls, presumably old kings, and sets of armour, or maybe actual knights, you can't be sure which, line the walls.

Irtul shrugs. "You're really not all that helpful." He follows behind the guard, idly wondering what'd happen if he poked one of the statue's. His bare feat slapped against the floor and wondered what the halls would look like painted with gore.
