Silken Ooze

Ooze

Blind (but have the blindsight special quality), with immunity to gaze attacks, visual effects, illusions, and other attack forms that rely on sight.
Immunity to poison, sleep effects, paralysis, polymorph, and stunning.
Some oozes have the ability to deal acid damage to objects. In such a case, the amount of damage is equal to 10 + ½ ooze’s HD + ooze’s Con modifier per full round of contact.
Not subject to critical hits or flanking.
Proficient with its natural weapons only.
Proficient with no armor.
Oozes eat and breathe, but do not sleep.
Small
30ft
Silken Body (Ex):
Silken oozes differ from general oozes in that their body has much more physical substance, being composed of countless soft fibers, and small gemstones that serve as eyes. In their natural shape, they'd appear to be a fuzzy blob, akin to a beanbag chair, however they rarely assume such form. More often, they take the shape of a crude humanoid shape with it's two largest gems where a humanoid's eyes would be, the rest of it's body speckled with random gems. It can use this form with just as much ease as any other small humanoid could.
The silken ooze can shape and color it's body at it's leisure to appear to be nearly any manner of clothing. They have a +20 to mimic clothing a person owns, +10 if they wear it often, and automatically succeed on checks to mimic clothing the person has never seen before. If they are worn in this manner, they do not need to make grapple checks in order to constrict or bond, however they do not need to as they can passively absorb dead skin cells, sweat, or other byproducts of the host. This is not often enough, but it sustains them for a time and they will often bond every few days when their host is asleep or distracted enough they may not notice in order to feed properly.
A silken ooze that obtains a psicrystal can have the crystal a part of their body, along with the other gem-eyes though it can part freely.

Silken Eyes (Su):
Silken oozes are not blind as most oozes are, they are able to see through gems woven into their being. They have a magical sight, they always benefit from the effects of Arcane Sight and True Seeing (For the purposes of illusions only). Silken oozes cannot see in areas of antimagic, and can be blinded by a Dispel Magic for a number of rounds equal to how badly you failed against it on a one for one basis.

Hostlink (Ex):
Silken oozes are defensive about their hosts, and if they have to they will do what they will to protect them. Silken oozes that are currently bonded with their host (Not simply being worn by them) are capable of using any spell that would normally only effect itself on it's host as well. Any benefit they gain, they can choose to transfer a portion to their host. They can automatically effect their host with effects requiring a Touch attack.
When bonded, a Silken ooze and it's host are capable of sharing information and memories at their individual discretion. As an immediate action, when bonded, a silken ooze and it's host can make use of the other's skills or gain a +2 circumstance bonus to the skill for that round.

Improved Grab (Ex):
To use this ability, a silken ooze must hit with its slam attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold and can constrict or bond.

Constrict (Ex):
A silken ooze can deal automatic slam damage with a successful grapple check, if they choose to do so.

Bond (Ex):
A silken ooze can bond with a creature, attaching to the host's flesh. They gain a +10 to grapple checks when bonded and can can either deliver a single bite attack dealing 1d3 damage causing the target to bleed, losing 1hp each round thereafter, or the ooze can stimulate the host in other ways to produce various fluids the ooze absorbs. A silken ooze can break this bond whenever they wish.
While bonded, the silken ooze is capable of telepathically communicating with the host.
A silken ooze that is worn by a host can form bonds in multiple locations, around the host's body, in order to animate the host effectively taking possession of them. If the host is asleep the silken ooze can do so freely, having the host walk around as though they were awake.
If the host is awake when they attempt grapple attempts each around. Each around they succeed they can control the host's body that round. Or, they can attempt such checks on smaller scales to make the host perform an action. Silken oozes don't often take control of their hosts when awake, however, or at all really.

Spongy (Ex):
Bludgeoning weapons deal no damage to a silken ooze. They take no falling damage, or suffer from high or low pressures. A silken ooze takes a -4 to swim checks and can never take ten on them. They are immune to spells and effects with the water descriptor.

Flammable (Ex):
Silken oozes take x1.5 fire damage from attacks that deal fire damage, and catch fire to take 1d3 fire damage each round there after for 1d4 rounds. Further fire attacks add 2 rounds and another 1d3 fire damage.

Silken Oozes are intelligent.
Skill Bonuses: A silken ooze gains a +4 to disguise, slight of hand, move silently, and hide checks. Silken Oozes take a -4 to swim checks.

Improved Grab: Silkskin get the improved grab ability. However, it works against targets the same size as the silkskin.

Improved Grab
If a creature with this special attack hits with a melee weapon (usually a claw or bite attack), it deals normal damage and attempts to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. No initial touch attack is required.

Unless otherwise noted, improved grab works only against opponents at least one size category smaller than the creature. The creature has the option to conduct the grapple normally, or simply use the part of its body it used in the improved grab to hold the opponent. If it chooses to do the latter, it takes a -20 penalty on grapple checks, but is not considered grappled itself; the creature does not lose its Dexterity bonus to AC, still threatens an area, and can use its remaining attacks against other opponents.

A successful hold does not deal any extra damage unless the creature also has the constrict special attack. If the creature does not constrict, each successful grapple check it makes during successive rounds automatically deals the damage indicated for the attack that established the hold. Otherwise, it deals constriction damage as well (the amount is given in the creature’s descriptive text).

When a creature gets a hold after an improved grab attack, it pulls the opponent into its space. This act does not provoke attacks of opportunity. It can even move (possibly carrying away the opponent), provided it can drag the opponent’s weight.

When a silkskin gains this ability, their skin becomes remarkably soft to the touch.

Silky Eyes: The Silkskin's eyes seem to harden, and they appear somewhat transparent as they take on a the color of a gemstone, most pronounced in the iris which is strikingly gemlike.
Silky eyes gives the silkskin a +2 on rolls against illusions and they gain a +2 to spellcraft checks to identify magic.
Silky Eyes 2: Bonuses increase to +10, their eyes look entirely solid now, having no features or appearance besides being little crystal orbs.
Crystal Sight: They gain the Silken Eyes ability of the silken ooze. Their gemmed eyes now look like intricately carved spheres of gemstone, now looking like eyes rather than simple spheres.

Ooze Affinity +2/4/6 Silkskins give off the same presence an ooze might. Oozes do not recognize the silkskin as an enemy (or food source for that matter). They gain the ability to communicate with intelligent oozes with the given bonus. At +6, the Silkskin can command mindless oozes as though with the dominate monster spell specifically targeting mindless oozes only.

Silky Body: The silkskin gains the supernatural ability to assume the form of a single set of clothing as a swift action. As a set of clothing it has no movement speed, but can still perceive it's surroundings and receive tactile information. They cannot naturally talk, and retain all their own statistics otherwise besides the obvious fact that they are now a set of clothes.
Silky Body 2: The silkskin can choose three more sets of clothing they can change into, or one new set of clothing and a small humanoid shape same as a real silken ooze can don.
Silk Shift: The silkskin gains the actual Silken Body ability of the silken ooze.

Bond: The silkskin gains the ability to bond with a target if they succeed on a grapple attempt. When bonded, they gain a +10 bonus to grapple checks to sustain contact, remaining bonded to them. A silkskin can break this bond whenever they wish.
Bond: The silkskin is now capable of absorbing fluids through their skin and can communicate telepathically to a creature it bonds with.

Squishy: The silkskin gains damage resistance 10/- against bludgeoning weapons.

Silken Paragon
Scattered throughout the world searching for hosts of their own, the silken race is one if trickery, deceit, slight of hand... and when that fails, a lovable cuddler warm and entirely huggable. Most silken paragons embody all their race's charm and mischief and take delight in finding the perfect host, but some manage to pull away from the curtain of lies to channel all they can muster in attracting willing hosts perfectly aware of the nature of the silky little critter.

Instead of hopping from host to host, silken paragons will search for what they call the perfect host. A host that tastes just right, the perfect personality, appearance, life style- truly a trophy-host that they can adore and in turn hope to be adored as well.

Adventures
Instead of hopping from host to host, silken paragons will search for what they call the perfect host. A host that tastes just right, the perfect personality, appearance, life style- truly a trophy-host that they can adore and in turn hope to be adored as well. And in such is their adventure. Silken oozes will travel for many years, perhaps on the backs of many temporary hosts or perhaps on their own power.
Once a silky finds their perfect host, they are likely to remain forever by their side endlessly loyal and infatuated with their new person and are likely to express this love in many ways it views most effective.
Their adventures don't end there however, many silken are drawn to the adventurous types who tend to work up a sweat in long travels and braving harsh conditions, and as such the silken is likely to be on the path to adventure for many years to come as they fight beside their perfect host.

Characteristics
Silken paragons are typically more open than other members of their race. Silken paragons consider themselves the epitome of all things fluffy in society, although they are careful about sharing these viewpoints with those around them as they understand flaunting that fact lessens it in some evil paradox. They are prone to acting on their curiosity and stating their opinion on matters, acting freely and in the open unless their host disproves of such things in public, because silken paragons use their charms to make hosts want to have them rather then being sneaky about it. As such, they may often form a bond to feed whenever they want within reason knowing that it's part of the arrangement they make; their adorableness and never wanting for clothing again in exchange for free meals (luckily not too many actually like the taste of blood.). Though as in all agreements, it differs from partnership to partnership.

Alignment
The vast majority of silken, including most silken paragons, are very neutral, even neutral good as they tend to be delicate at heart couldn't stand to do harm to someone, they'd much rather deliver swift cuddles, or give a warm hug to a crying individual- making sure of course to wipe away those tasty tears, wouldn't want them to go to waste afterall.

Religion
Silken oozes tend to be too care free to develop religious ties. However most Silken seem to believe that they'll live for ever, but if the get hurt enough they'll wake up in a land made of cloud stuffs and all the humans they could ever want to cuddle to love them, and cherish them, and eat away their tears whenever they get sad when they trip during a game of tag, or lose at who can eat the most contests.

Background
Silken paragons learn their new skills primarily on the fated chance they witness the magic that is the cat, or the kitten, they witness how the humans are so accepting of the little predatory thing and seem to think they are cute. So, a silken would think, that's their game. And thus the silken will watch, and learn. Gazing at the little creature that so easily wins the hearts of the humans. Then, when they've had enough of these games the silken will decide it's time to change... it's time to become lovable. It's time to make itself known... it's time to win the hearts of humans instead of pretending they aren't there.

Races
Silken oozes tend to refer to most "humanoid" races as "humans". They can't really find the need to designate any special names for them and call it as they see it. Pointy-ear humans, toothy humans, tiny humans. It's all the same. However, each silken ooze has their own preferences. Some may prefer feeding off pointy-ear humans, while others might prefer feeding off the toothy greenish humans. Even from there there are many factors unique to each silky's tastes.
Beyond their favorite source of sustenance, or what other races they find the most attractive to them in general, Silken oozes tend to care little so long as the race is humanoid in shape.
Meanwhile they certainly hope the other races don't have a problem with them. How could they anyhow?

Silken paragons have the following game statistics.

Abilities
Silken paragons prefer to talk or distract other's out of combat and woo the opposition and the hearts of those around them with their wiles and cute facade, making charisma a silky's first choice. If they have to fight, they usually stick to their host if they can, taking part of the damage the host would take making constitution next so they can help themselves and their host survive. If they have to fight themselves, they would prefer to do so with the upper hand, likely using trickery and surprise to their advantage or making use of ranged weapons making dexterity next.

Alignment
Any.

Class Skills
The silken paragon's class skills are Bluff, Climb, Diplomacy, Disguise, Escape Artist, listen, move silently, ride, sense motive, slight of hand, and spot.

Class Features
All of the following are class features of the silken paragon class.

Weapons and Armor Proficiency
Silken paragons aren't proficient with any armor or weapons. However, at first level the silken paragon gains the Improved Unarmed Strike feat for free instead, and gain a +1/level deflection bonus to AC as a mind effecting effect and as such an attack from a foe immune to mind effecting effects ignores this deflection bonus.

Shrinky Silk(Ex): At first level the silken paragon is able to shrink itself to assume tiny forms, which can be in a general shape of just about anything though it's just a visual change and you don't actually gain any benefits for looking like a cat, or little panda for example.
At third level, they can become diminutive.

Charming(Su): At first level the silken paragon is able to cast charm person as a spell like ability a number of times per day equal to their charisma modifier (minimum 1).

Grapple Bonus(Ex): As the silky progresses they gain a bonus to grapple checks to compensate for their lack of AC. This is because their soft composition is actually many tiny fibers that are able to stick to other creatures or things, thus they gain this bonus to grappling. It also applies to climb checks.
In addition, a silken paragon can use it's dexterity modifier instead of strength when grappling.

Fluffed Silk(Ex): At second level, the silken paragon is able to fluff itself, making more space between it's individual fibers allowing it to take up more space, they can now appear as medium sized things or as a medium sized humanoid.

Cuddle(Su): At second level, the silken paragon becomes an expert at delivering super-cuddles. They can spend a standard action to cuddle their host or someone nearby, making a touch attack to deliver the hug against someone they aren't currently on already in the form of clothing or some sort. If they succeed: they cuddle. This cuddle spreads warmth and fuzzy feelings throughout the target's mind and body. This super-cuddle functions as a break enchantment effect against all harmful effects on the recipient.
A silken paragon with 20hd can instead make this function as a miracle spell for the purposes of removing negative effects, including death, though it only brings them back to 1HP and cannot be used for healing otherwise, which requires cure spells or healing potions.

Ability Boost(Ex): At third level the silken paragon's charisma is increased by 2 points.

They sound adorable, honestly.

For Silken Eyes you'll want to specify how long blindness lasts after being dispelled, or what it takes to regain their sight.

Just wondering, from a fluff standpoint, where do the gem-eyes go when an ooze is masquerading as clothing? It seems like they'd have to be uncovered for it to see.

They adorn the clothing of course. Though they can alter them slightly to make them look more like buttons and so on.

Does this start with any racial HD? That's a lot of special abilities there.

No, because I have no idea what racial HD are. It's just a +3 race like any other. :/

On average, a creature gains a racial hit die for every special ability not associated with those that come from its Type or Subtype. This balances for CR and ECL and even LA. It's not an exact science and not all abilities are equal. This is why VT's CR calculator works.

A one hit die creature with all those abilities is far overpowered and not just LA +3 will fix that.

The equation is straightforward: racial Hit Dice + class levels (if any) + Level Adjustment = Effective Character Level.

This is why I find it is easier to judge a creature's CR in a stat block rather than from racial traits.

It is basicly adding empty class levels to go along with the racial abilities that should be class features. It tends to work better then LA as it dosn't dump you with three missing HD and three skill ranks behind level appropriate allies. RHD do tend to be larger in number, but you don't miss them as much.
