Druid gaining Animal Type

Is there any way for a druid to actually gain the Animal type?
So they may gain benefit from all their animal buff spells?

No, and for good reasons.

Traits
An animal possesses the following traits (unless otherwise noted in a creature’s entry).
- Intelligence score of 1 or 2 (no creature with an Intelligence score of 3 or higher can be an animal).

They can however, gain the plant type via the woodling (MM5 I think) template. That would allow them to benefit from their plant buffs.
