The Romantic Pond

[Alex Shipmaster]

Alex shrugs "Floor, ground is there a difference?"

Alena rolls her eyes, Yes there is, the ground is usually bumpy and uneven, floors are usually nice and flat. She goes over to where he tripped and looks at the ground.

[Alex Shipmaster]

Alex walks up behind her and wraps his arms around her waist "What did I trip over?"

[wxdruid]

Alena lightly bats him with one wing, A rock, as she leans down to look at it.

[Alex Shipmaster]

Alex reacts with quickly stroking the wing with the fingers on one hand just after she hit him with it

[wxdruid]

Alena giggles and lightly kicks the embedded rock, I think that one's a bit to big.

[Alex Shipmaster]

"Well if it was small and not stuck in the floor I wouldn't have tripped over it silly"

[wxdruid]

Stuck in the floor... Alena laughs, Come on, I see a good place to lie down and stare at the stars.

[Alex Shipmaster]

Alex leans over her shoulder "Ok, stuck in the ground" he kisses her cheek and strokes her wing

Alena smiles and her eyes twinkle. She walks over to a grassy spot and very carefully lies down on her back, looking up at the stars. Her wings spread out to either side.

[Alex Shipmaster]

Alex walks over to Alena "Space there for me?"

[wxdruid]

She pats a spot right next to her and moves her wing a little higher, leaving plenty of space. After this I'll need help cleaning my feathers.....

[Alex Shipmaster]

Alex lies down next to her, cuddling up as much as possible "Yeah, I suppose I should help as I making it grubby"

Alena cuddles up next to him and starts looking at the sky, Look, I can see Orion.

[Alex Shipmaster]

Alex peers up in the sky "Yeah...I can see taurus as well" he begins absentmindly stroking one of her wings

[wxdruid]

I can see Orion's sword.

[Alex Shipmaster]

"I recognize Orion by the belt...can't identify much else about it, names of it I mean."

I like it the best.

[Alex Shipmaster]

Alex smiles and rolls over so his head is on her chest. He reaches across and runs the fingers of one hand hand down her wing "What you mean you like it more than me?"

a little flustered, Well not better than you, better than the other stars, her wing trembles under his fingers.

[Alex Shipmaster]

Alex smiles "I was kidding silly" he reaches up and kisses her before resting his head on her chest again. He continues to stroke her wing

Alena smiles, kisses him back and puts one arm around him, she finally twitches her wing further up. You....

[Alex Shipmaster]

Alex grins at her "Yes, me" he runs a hand through her hair "Well if you're going to keep your wing out of reach I'll have to find somewhere else to stroke..."

She sighs and gives up trying to get him to make sense and she rearranges herself so she's on her side, her wings laying behind her. She leans down and kisses him.

Alena smiles and brings one wing over to cover them.

Alex shifts closer to Alena and wraps his arms around her neck loosely. He strokes her wing slowly with the fingers of one hand.

Her wing trembles as she lightly kisses him, mmm, I always enjoy being next to you.

[Alex Shipmaster]

"I could say the same about you" Alex continues to stroke her wing "I love you" he returns the kiss

[wxdruid]

Alena giggles, Did you want to spend all night here?

[Alex Shipmaster]

"mmm, I'd prefer not to...a little bit too uncomftable for me here. And we'd get our clothes dirty if we dump them out here for the night." he strokes her wings slowly with both hands

Alena quickly escapes while his hands are busy and stands up. She grins as she scoops him up and gets a running start and takes off, headed into Town.

*The llama relaxes by the pond, licking at the water, deep in thought*

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames and Vera arrive at the pond. Iames sighs as he spots the sleeping llama. Maybe we should find another spot?

[AmberVael]

That might be a good idea.

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

*Atreyu hears voices and lifts up his head, to see if there are still people here or if he was dreaming*

[Lord Iames Osari]

Ummmm... any thoughts? We could try to find another pond, we could go to the woods and find a nice spot there...

There are indeed people at the pond.

(how is it that I can place him at a thread and check ever 4 minutes or so to see if someone else has posted, but I take one shower break and people show up? *laughs* The gods must be crazy.)

*The llama looks up, started.*

You can choose. I've been making enough decisions on my own at the station...

*A burst of hay falls in the general area from the startled quadruped, but he jumps up.* "Its okay, I was needing to get to a wedding that would start in about....ummm....shock, nowish."

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames groans. Oh, shock, me too. Thank goodness for avatars.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi looks somewhat confused. Oh, I got an invitation for that...

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

"Heh. Yeah, I need to learn how to use those, but followers first and Destro is working on that for me. I'm gonna head on out. Enjoy the pond, the grass around the edge is very ripe for this time of year, if you like that sort of thing." *He licks his lips and starts to head out* "Umm...its a heck of a run. Think you can manage a teleport for me?

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames frowns. You haven't figured out how to do that yet? Hm. Sure, I can do that. Iames's eyes glow, and Atreyu gains the ability to teleport to the wedding.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi frowns. Should I be going?

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames looks at her. You want to go?

[AmberVael]

I don't know who they are. Verdandi shrugs.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Oh, that's right. I guess you don't have to, then. It really wouldn't mean anything. He smiles. And now we have the pond to ourselves...

Verdandi smiles and sits down under the tree, pulling him down after her.

Iames sits next to Vera and puts his arms around her.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi lays her head on his shoulder and looks out over the pond. We've done this alot, haven't we?

Iames nods. We have.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi smiles a little. I like it.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames smiles too. I'm glad. His arms tighten around her slightly.

Verdandi hums in contentment, closing her eyes.

Iames holds her happily, a sense of rightness filling him. His eyes are half-closed, and he moves a hand up to play with a bit of her hair.

Verdandi's humming stops after a little, and she opens her eyes slightly.

Iames doesn't seem to notice.

Verdandi's eyes widen as her half-subconcious mind simply slips through the mental shield that is holding her memories back. She clutches tightly to Iames and curls up against him, waking back up but finding herself unable to stop her memories from coming back.

Iames's eyes widen in surprise, and he holds her tightly, sending reassurance to her mind.

[AmberVael]

Iames, please... Verdandi looks up at him, frightened and no longer sure of herself.

[Lord Iames Osari]

What is it? Iames answers. What do I need to do?

[AmberVael]

I just- I don't- Verdandi starts to cry, holding tighter to him.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames holds her close, murmuring soft reassurances to her, his mind racing through possibilities.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi sobs silently, just waiting for Iames to do something.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames raises her face to his and kisses her gently.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi kisses him back, still crying.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames pulls back after a moment and wipes her tears away. Now, what's the matter?

[AmberVael]

Verdandi whimpers and puts her wings around him, holding to him tightly. Its- my memories- they're-

[Lord Iames Osari]

Back? Iames guesses.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi nods, crying out of frustration and uncertainty.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Vera, calm down. Working yourself up over this will only make it worse. Take a deep breath and let it out.

[AmberVael]

But- But I don't- I can't- please, Iames, just do something. She sobs uncontrollably, shaking.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames casts about for something to do. He reaches out with a link to Vera's mind and begins projecting a meditative tranquility, trying to calm her down. He tries to wrap tranquility around her mind like a blanket and then let the tranquility slowly diffuse through her mind.

[AmberVael]

Iames can feel his power sink into her mind, but it is blocked off from the portion of her mind that is shielded.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames concentrates on calming the parts of her mind he can reach.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi calms somewhat, but still clutches to Iames.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames sighs. Vera, the shield in your mind is still there; I have done all I can to help directly. I need you to help me help you. Do you think you can calm yourself down a bit more now that I've gotten you started?

[AmberVael]

Verdandi nods, but her eyes are still frightened.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames waits until she's calmed herself down. Now, can you tell me what it is you're afraid of?

[AmberVael]

Everything is just so... so... uncertain. I want to know whats going to happen! I want to be in control!

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames nods. What are some of things you're uncertain about?

[AmberVael]

Everything Iames. Everything. I don't know whats going on here.

Iames sighs and tries a different tack. Are you uncertain about how I feel about you?

No... but I can't see where it will take us.

Marriage, a family, children, perhaps. He looks at her seriously. Aerin and I have been avoiding the topic because we thought that the last thing you needed was another thing to worry about, but would getting married help with that, do you think?

I- uh- children? Verdandi looks up at him with pain in her eyes.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames shakes his head with a smile. I was giving examples of what our relationship could lead to. If you don't want children, I'm not going to force you to have any, and neither is Aerin. That's all in the future anyway. Would being married help you feel more certain?

[AmberVael]

I can't have children.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Well, that makes that decision that much easier. Why not, if you don't mind me asking?

Its- the norns- they didn't want anyone else to be able- to control fate, so...

Whether they did it with Seid or steel, it's as bad either way. Iames takes a calming breath, then smiles at her. So, getting back to the matter at hand. Would getting married help you feel more certain?

Iames senses that Vera's beginning to get herself worked up again, and he sends more waves of tranquility. Steady, Vera. What is it about fate?

I don't know what to do about that, Vera. Iames looks unhappy.

Verdandi just clings to him, less certain than he is about the situation.

Iames holds her.

How do people deal with this? Verdandi looks around worriedly.

By growing up this way. Most people don't grow up being able to see fate. They grow up with uncertainty everywhere, all the time. I suppose that's what having a world full of people with free will does. Although now that I think of it... your sister doesn't seem to have been having any of these problems. I wonder why that is...

Aesa has always been better with this kind of thing than me...

Iames thinks of something. Vera, one of the ways that people who can't see fate, or who don't have a predetermined fate, keep the uncertainty from getting to them the way it's gotten to you is to make plans for the future.

I just want to go back to how I was before...

I don't know what I want... I don't know what I should do... I tried to give myself certainty by swearing myself to you, but you constantly tell me to make my own decisions, so...

Iames looks contrite. I'm sorry. I'm uncomfortable giving you orders because of our relationship. I didn't realize I was contributing to the problem. I'll do my best to be more commanding and imperious in the future. He smiles at her.

Verdandi sighs and looks down.

[Lord Iames Osari]

That last part was a bit of a joke, Iames tells her, probably unnecessarily, but I will try to be a better source of certainty for you, starting now. Okay?

Okay... Verdandi leans against him, then looks up at him, her face serious. Iames, what should I do with myself?

[Lord Iames Osari]

You should stay here in Town until I decide to move on or send you somewhere else. While in Town, you should attend to your duties as the chief of police. If those duties bring you into conflict with me at any point, you are to remember this: I am not above the law, and if I break the law, I expect you to apprehend me and see that justice is done, regardless of any orders I may try to give you at that point. Umm... That's all I can think of for general instructions at the moment.

[AmberVael]

Sometimes I wonder... if I really do want to fight. It just seems so much better to just be with you and let go of things. Verdandi looks up at him.

Iames starts to tell her to make her own choice, but he remembers his promise and stops himself. You would rather not be the chief of police?

I don't know... sometimes I just want to put down my sword and never pick it up again.

When do you usually feel that way? Is there a set of similar circumstances most of the time?

When I'm around you? Verdandi looks into his eyes.

Iames "hmmm"s in thought. He tries to read Vera's emotions and find out what she wants without actually asking her.

Iames might get confused very quickly, as that is exactly how Verdandi feels. She feels frightened, lost, happy, nervous, overwhelmed, adoring, and uncertain.

Iames sighs mentally. I'll have to think more about that, Vera.

Verdandi hugs Iames and kisses him.

Verdandi relaxes a little more and rests her chin on his shoulder.

Iames pulls back from the embrace. Vera, you said that you didn't want to fight when you were around me. I trust that if you had to, you would fight as well around me as when not?

Verdandi hesitates, then nods. I believe so, yes.

Good. Uh, I offered my help to someone who was looking for people to oppose some sort of evil, all-consuming force, not realizing that he intended to sortie against it immediately. So, I am going to be going and helping with that, and I want you to contribute any way you can.

[AmberVael]

What? Now? Verdandi looks at Iames in alarm.

[Lord Iames Osari]

I think so... Iames extends his senses. Or perhaps not... In any case, let's go to Trog's.

Okay... Verdandi hugs him again, obviously not intending to stand.

Iames teleports them to Trog's.

Kyrian leads Lillah to the pond.

Lillah smiles, Should we find a place to sit?

She leads them towards the edge of the lake and starts to walk around it. She rests her head on Kyrian's shoulder.

Kyrian smiles as he wraps one arm around her waist and holds her close.

I love you. She smiles and kisses him.

[Kyrian]

She smiles at him and continues the walk around the lake, listening to the birds and whatnot.

Kyrian begins to hum.

Lillah hums along with him.

Kyrian finally stops and sits. He pulls Lillah down to him.

Lillah decides that sitting in his lap is better than sitting on the ground so she does so.

Kyrian holds her close and plays with her hair.

Vespe walks over to the lake, sits down and looks in. He drops a bundle of pink flowers in, and they quickly submerge. He leaves quietly.

Lillah smiles and continues to rest her head on him.

Kyrian begins singing his song, allowing his love for Lillah to begin to flow in the air around them.

I wish he could have stayed around longer. But he promised to come visit.

Yeah... I was hoping we could talk more, but the day went so fast.

Yeah... it just takes a bit for him to convince the Lords to let him come here for a visit.

They wouldn't respond well to that. Molph can handle them, he has for years. He understands them better than anyone, probably better than they understand themselves.

What? She rolls over to face him.

Part of me still wants to return to Limbo, and kick all the Lord's asses for what they tried to do to you...

Yeah... but it wouldn't get us anywhere. We'd just end up with the Lords back in our life. Which I really don't want.

Kyrian kisses her.

Well, I am married to the most beautiful woman this world shall ever see, so yes, I believe it did.

I'm happy with that ending as well.

Ending? Who said it was ending....there's still the hundreds of kids....minus ninety or so...

Kyrian laughs, to show he's joking.

Lillah laughs. Are you going to give birth to them?

[Kyrian]

Um....no.

Kyrian kisses her again.

Well than I wouldn't be throwing around numbers like that. She leans in and kisses him.

Kyrian shrugs and kisses her again.

Maybe... in a couple of years.

A quite obviously insane Ark runs past, throwing explosives at people.

Kyrian wills a shield up around him and Lillah, and the explosive rolls far far away.

Ok, that sounds like a plan.

Kyrian laughs and holds Lillah close.

Did somebody just try to blow us up?

[Kyrian]

Tried, failed.

[McBish]

I guessed that. I think I would have noticed if someone blew us up.

Kyrian laughs.

Kyrian kisses her.

I guess we could do that. She kisses him again and they disappear.

Phoenixineohp and Atreyu appear beside the water, sitting on the bank. Phoenixineohp leans into him and hums a little of the song as she pets him.

*he hums along, tail wagging, happy and relaxed, looking out over the pond, his foreleg resting on her leg*

Phoenixineohp happily sighs and looks out across the lake. She strokes his hair, deep in thought.

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

*He leans into her, resting his head in her lap, looking up and seeing her new necklace shining, he goes to say something, but thinks it might ruin the moment, so he sits, simply enjoying this time*

Phoenixineohp smiles at him then frowns slightly. She then goes on to say the four most frightening words anyone in a relationship can hear.

"We need to talk."

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

*His ears shoot up and he raises his head in confusion*

[phoenixineohp]

She smiles at him and strokes his face. She seems emotional, on the verge of tears, yet happy.

"I've been thinking about what I want to give you for your birthday, and for today. In my culture we don't celebrate either really. We celebrate a birth and ..." she trails off and smiles.

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

*his tail stops its nervous slink between his legs and goes back to a sort of neutral confused state. Its gotten quite used to that spot*
"and....umm....?

She smiles at him.
"Well I guess that you could call them pair bondings. We don't have marriages, or ceremonies like other cultures. We have... bondings."

She strokes his fur again gently.

"I think I've figured out something."

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

"oh yeah. Bondings. Kinda like a wedding, right? Oh, what have you figured out?"

She sadly smiles and places her right hand on his mark. She closes her eyes.

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

*finally getting some sense to his head, he smiles and then sighs in happy pleasure as he's hit by waves of warmth and love. He tries to send his own feelings of love and devotion back to her.*

Phoenixineohp smiles as she feels him trying to send his emotions back. Her eyes well up with tears and a bit of relief can be felt just before she closes the channel and removes her hand. She sighs and leans against him, wrapping him in her arms and wings. Tears start to escape from her eyes.

"Atreyu, I love you."

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

*Emotional at having felt the depth of her love, the normally more reserved about his deeper feelings llama, returns the hug as best his form will allow.*

"I love you, too, Phoenixineohp."

Phoenixineohp continues to embrace her dear llama, tears streaking faster down her cheeks. The wind blows on them gently as they sit together.

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

*He starts gently wiping her tears away with his muzzle, the cloth around his mask looks a little damp itself.*

She laughs a little and melts more into him.
"You are so wonderful..."
She gently holds the side of his face as she kisses his nose.

*his face goes beat red, he's obviously quite happy as he lightly licks her cheek.*

She giggles and happily gives him an energetic hug. Her tears are gone for now as she grins and scratches him.

*he sighs happily in the scratching* "oooooh, thats the spot. I'm gonna need to be an elf sometime when you're a llama. You don't know what you're missing"

She giggles.
"I think I can add that to the plan."

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

*he laughes, but then a look of confusion crosses his face.* "Great! Umm...Why were you crying so heavily a minute ago?"

Her smiles fades and she becomes a little sad and withdrawn.
"Well, there are still some things that we need to talk about, but let's not worry about that right now okay?" She tries to smiles and gently caresses his face. "Today has been such a wonderful day."

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

" yes, yes it has. Okay, we can talk later. You'll let me know if its important, right?"

[phoenixineohp]

A slight look of surprise hits her face.
"Uh.. yeah." She shakes her head and smiles. "We can talk about it later. As for now... I've been wooed by a very good little Llama. How should I return the favor or reward him?" She raises an eyebrow and does a pouty smile while her hand traces his mark.

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

*his eyes light up at being called a "good little llama"* "I was always taught when someone does you a favor, its nice to return it."

[phoenixineohp]

"Ummm hmmm." She seems to purr. Her finger coils around some fur as she plays.

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

"yup" *he grins*

[phoenixineohp]

She smiles at him.
"But I asked how...." She winks at him.

[Atreyu the Masked LLama]

*he looks out at the potential audience and whispers something in her ear*

[phoenixineohp]

She winks at him and they vanish.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi flies out to the pond and looks over it, tears coming to her eyes again. She bursts into a sobbing, hysterical fit and sits down, putting her arms around herself and dropping her sword beside herself.
Aesa appears behind her. Vera... I can help you. You don't have to remember all this... you can start over. Verdandi stands and spins around, her eyes blazing. Somehow she picked up her sword in her swift motion. No. I can't deny who I am. Iames wouldn't want me to. Aesa prevents herself from rolling her eyes. Its not going to help you at all to be like this. I can take those memories away- Verdandi snarls and strikes out swiftly with her sword, aiming not for Aesa but for the earring she wears. Shocked, Aesa doesn't move swiftly enough to get out of the way, and Verdandi's quick, accurate, and deadly cut snips the earring in half, then leaves a nasty slice along Aesa's neck.
Aesa leaps back and scowls at her. You're irrational. You do not even understand; its best that I do what I suggest, whether you agree or no. Aesa raises a hand to scribe a rune, but Verdandi moves in with insane speed and slashes her across the chest, the along the arm. Aesa mananges to roll away from the blows, but not negate them. She staggers back, only to meet a flurry of strokes. I won't forget them! I won't! Aesa blurs away and vanishes in a red flash before Verdandi can do more.
Verdandi stands there for a moment, then rinses her sword off in the pond, leaving the clear water stained with red blood before she flies away.
