View Full Version : [PF] Optimizing a Mystic Theurge build?

I wanted to build a competent mystic theurge, so I chose human wizard/cleric with Lost Tradition (Cleric to Int) as a 1st level feat. What other feats or ACF should I consider? Is Collegiate Wizard or Precocious Apprentice worth taking? Should I swap Cleric for an updated Archivist (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8304603&postcount=1)?

I'm using the Pathfinder rules, Wound & Vigor (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/variant-rules#TOC-Wounds-and-Vigor) rules, updated Spell Point rules (http://esotera.wildspace.com/ogc/variants/magic/spellpoints) (w/ Spell Point Variant: Vitalizing). For feats, spells, items, etc, any updated/compatible 3.0/3.5/d20 books like Dragon Magazine/Wheel of Time/Game of Thrones/whatever can be referenced.

EDIT: Instead of the Cleric or Archivist, I'll be using the Prelate class (http://www.pathfinderdb.com/character-options/classes/1122-prelate) by the same author (which is basically an adaption of the Archivist anyway).

If Precocious Apprentice exists and works to allow early entry to mystic theurge, you'd be a fool not to use it for this character.

Archivist saves you a feat and is otherwise at a similar power to the cleric. Might as well IMO.

Divination (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/wizard/arcane-schools/paizo---arcane-schools/classic-arcane-schools/divination) would be a useful PF arcane school for you, the most important power (always act in the surprise round) won't ever get old and isn't dependent on the number of wizard levels you have.

What level? how much cheese? for a game or just for fun?Theoretical. For a full 20-level progression. Optimized, but not game-breakingly so. Only material that has been professionally published, please (preferably from respectable companies like WotC, Paizo, Green Ronin, White Wolf, etc).

Is Collegiate Wizard worth it, or should another feat be taken?
