Alright, so I was taking a look at the Sandshape PrC (Sandstorm p. 76) last night, and it seemed to me that the class feature Desert Insight allowed you to gain spells up to the highest level known, all by just taking one level in the PrC.

Is this right? It doesn't seem so, getting a whole slew of spells known by just taking a single level of the PrC.

Exactly what it says on the tin. Somewhat widely regarded as one of the few PrCs worth losing a caster level for.

That is exactly how it works. It is often considered woth losing a casting level for a spontaneous casting class. Especially the halfcasters, like Bard or Duskblade.

Note also that the spells known will be added to ANY spontaneous list, not just an arcane one. So if you can squeze in as a Favored Soul, etc...
