Was looking through the DMG and could not find an exact listing for making an Adamantine shield. If I were making a Heavy Shield, would it be the cost of heavy armor? If so that seems a little much, considering that a shield probably uses half as much metal as a suit of full plate.

A note about this, I am not really looking for alternative metals for a shield, mostly trying to figure out adamantine, but I understand the need to share other metals from various books. Please just include the book and page number if that is the case. I'm generally looking for low cost, maybe with damage reduction or other tank like properties.

Thanks!

A shield is +2000 gp cost modifier.

http://www.d20srd.org/srd/specialMaterials.htm#adamantine Look at the table on the right.

Also note that, by book, an adamantine shield has more HP but does not grant Damage Reduction to the wielder. Only armor made of adamantine will grant DR.

Thats perfect! sucks about the non-damage reduction, but it is what I needed.

Thank you!
