I hope this is is the appropriate way to note that some is spamming the site.

Use the "Report" button at the bottom of the post (red triangle !) instead. That way it sends a report directly to the moderator's secret lair so that they all can see it and whoever gets on first can take care of it, and it bundles each post's reports together so that it doesn't get overwhelming if everybody reports it.

One thing to do now because the Search function down is to make sure you report all copies from each spammer, because there's no easy way for moderators to find more posts from that account, especially if they are spread among forums or sprinkled as replies to threads.

In the lower-left corner of posts, there's a little http://www.giantitp.com/forums/images/buttons/report.gif that you can click on to report posts for this sort of thing. That way, it'll be queued for a moderator to check in and handle the situation when possible.

Just to mention - was having difficulties reporting the spam because of the 60 second wait time between reporting posts.

As everyone has mentioned, that is the best way to report spam and spammers. And yes, it would be excellent if you reported every spam post you found, as that will help us greatly given that serch is disabled.

Also, it is recognised that the 60 second wait time makes it a bit inconvenient, but all the more appreciated if you do. Unfortunately, it is not possible to unlink one from the other.
