So I got to watch a drug bust when I was up at the Casino!! We were driving over a freeway overpass, and there was this kinda beat up old van sitting at the top with road flares out, looking all broken down and what not. We pulled down into the gas station near the Casino. Now this place has only one access road in, and there were three cops wit ha tack-strip on this road. Me and my buddy were a bit confused, so when we got into the gas station we asked the cashier what was up. She had no idea either. So we step back outside and wander over to the gas pump to top off my car. On one side of the station we suddenly see the beat up van tear around and park behind this grey pickup truck. They kick the door open and five swat guys pile out and move on the truck. The truck roars off, and goes off road to get around the back of the station. He comes back around and enters the parking lot on the other side of the building, and hits a pylon that knocks him up into the air. One cop looks like he was going to get run over, so he shoots through the engine compartment, and hits the driver in the legs with a bit of shrapnel. The driver takes off down the exit road and that was all I got to see. It was really cool to have like seven DEA agents with assault weapons wandering around the parking lot. Then, as we are leaving we pull up behind the police block, and there is the pickup with tackstrips all up in its undercarriage. And there must have been five thousand dollars in cash scattered on the road. They had us write a statement about what we saw, and we asked if they were hiring!

I thought it was pretty epic for a day at the Casino.

Of course SWAT is hiring. But first you have to go through police academy, become a regular cop, get some experience before being able to join a specialist unit, and then you have to compete with all the other cops who want to get in.

I read the OP, then a few hours later--about five minutes after I arrived at the coffee shop--I saw a SWAT van drive past.
