He ends up defeating the main bad guy by shoving him into outer space.

Oh man, I was just talking about this movie a week or two ago. I think I described as "Spiderman with communist overtones."

Is it just because it takes place in russia, any story that has a moral of "Don't be a greedy jackass" is instantly a communist message?

Yeah, I didn't read it as communist.

I also got the spiderman parallels to the point where I predicted his dad's death.

It was pretty funny, overall.
