Ok so a while back (year/years) I thought I saw a playgrounder attempt to fix this. I'm not sure if said playgrounder did or not but I was wondering if anyone knows of a fix for this feat point system?
I would like to see the progress/what has happened to it.

Are you thinking of SoZ's fix (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=245177)?

So far it does look like it! I'll need to read more than the first post though.
Thanks!

I really dig that, I have often thought about the usefulness of such a system.
I'd probably make all metamagic feats cost 10 points, though.

I would keep the metamagics less than 10 but make reducers crazy expensive. Metamagics are "common" (core) whereas metamagic reducers are very rare (non-core).
Metamagics only get to out of shape when reducers make a an empowered maximized quicked spell of X cost +0
Or perhaps make 2 versions of the feat. Level 1 cost a lower ammount than level 2 but level 2 you can add reducers to it.

Ow, that would be painfully complicated.
