Can a creature have more than one subtype? Thanks. I'm looking to create a character with the extraplanar subtype, but he already has another one.

Thanks.

Yes, it is possible to get additional subtypes. For example, the feat human heritage grants the human subtype in addition to others (such as extraplanar).

The extraplanar subtype is one that you gain or lose depending on where you are. A typical prime plane native gains that subtype when he visits Acheron, and loses it again when he returns home. Likewise, devils gain it when on the prime plane, but lose it when on their home plane.

More specific answers need more specific questions.

Ashtagon is right on regarding the extraplanar subtype but as a general rule a creature may have any number of subtypes it can only have 1 type tho

Here are some examples of creatures w/ multiple subtypes (all from the SRD):

Angel, Solar ~ Large Outsider (Angel, Extraplanar, Good)
Hound Archon ~ Medium Outsider (Archon, Extraplanar, Good, Lawful)
Barghest ~ Medium Outsider (Evil, Extraplanar, Lawful, Shapechanger)
Demon, Balor ~ Large Outsider (Chaotic, Extraplanar, Evil, [Tanar'ri])
Devil, Pit Fiend ~ Large Outsider (Evil, Extraplanar, Lawful, [Baatezu])
Hell Hound ~ Medium Outsider (Evil, Extraplanar, Fire, Lawful)
Thoqqua ~ Medium Elemental (Earth, Extraplanar, Fire)

Look at the type line on any demon or devil's stat-block. That should clear up your question quite nicely.

*If you were too lazy, demons and devils have 3 subtypes minimum; evil and one each of lawful or chaotic and baatezu or tan'ari*
