We might be able to give you more specific advice if you told us what sort of character you wanted to build.

Well, what do you want? At first level, there isn't a whole lot to say beyond the obvious: Max Str and Con, everything else is secondary. Use a two-handed weapon. Look forward to rage powers, they're fun. Take Power Attack. Some swear by Furious Focus, some swear at it.

Well just Eyeballing the guide and not thinking too long on the subject I get this-

Human
Str 18 +2 for human (20)
Dex 12
Con 15
Int 8
Wis 12
Cha 7

Lvl 1 feats should be Improved Initiative + Power Attack.

Raging Vitality at level 3.

Totem Warrior ACF

Traits are Exile + Eyes and Ears of the City. You have to worship Abadar to make this work. Make sure to stick 1 skill point into perception.

2 Hand your big weapon of choice.

This gives you a bruiser that at level 1 strikes with +6 to hit, +12 damage on the hit. It gets +7 initiative and +6 spot at first level. The idea is you hit hard enough to knock anything you're likely to encounter down, and that you're trying really hard to get the alpha strike in.

The backstory seems to go like this. You were a town guard somewhere. One day you saw a criminal committing a heinous crime. Choose your most hated crime Rape/Murder/Ect. You flew into a rage and beat the guy savagely. He died. There were witnesses present to attest that he was in the process of committing the crime, but the city (Lawful/Neutral) couldn't tolerate guards just slaughtering people without due process. The bad guy wasn't resisting arrest. Whatever he was doing wasn't quite bad enough to warrant the death penalty. Your punishment for breaching due process was banishment. You still believe in the ethics you learned in the city, but in practice you cannot easily control your anger (Neutral/X alignment). Cue angst, run character.
