So my current pathfinder (formerly 3.5) game has this home-brew system in which one can enchant their own items by spending experience points to upgrade it in any way they like, and considering certain Background Features (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=11966030#post11966030) of my Paladin, I’ve been enchanting my sword in such a way that it could be wielded by a Shadow (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/shadow.htm), or at least have a shadow-e feel to it, I’ve already given it ghost-touch so it can harm or be wielded by incorporeal creatures such as the Shadow, but I’m not sure what else to add it it to give the "Weapon of the shadow" feel to it that I’m looking for, a task made harder by the fact that i can't use any evil enchantments such as "Unholy" or the like, and crippled even further due to my own lawful-good alignment, preventing enchantments that make it chaotic as well.

Do any of you know of any possible weapon enchantments that exist outside of the players handbook i could look into that could give my sword a shadow-y feel to it? Like, perhaps an enchantment that blinds a foe with a black fog/magical darkness, or one which deals strength damage (which would cost me a lot of EXP) like the Shadow itself can, or whatever else you can find?

Allowed books are:
Pathfinder Core Rulebook
Advanced Players' Guide
Advanced Races Guide (except dragon or dragon-kin or drow, and the Race Builder chapter is right out.)
Gamemastery Guide
Ultimate Combat. Special Note: Gunslingers are allowed, but these concentrate solely on crossbows (light, heavy, and repeating varieties.) Be sure to check with your DM for special variant rules/ Chu Ko Nu Master Architype for this particular class.
Ultimate Magic
Ultimate Equipment
PC Architypes from the Pathfinder Adventure Path Books (i.e. Curse of the Crimson Thrown, Rise of the Rune Lords)
(copied from "allowed books" in the character creation thread of the forum, forgive irrelevant books and exceptions)

Remember, Evil, and most likely necromantic enchantments are a no-go. But if you know of something that might help that's in one of these books, let me know the book and the page number and I’ll check it out!

Why not Grey Flame (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-weapons/magic-weapon-special-abilities/grayflame)? You can call it your shadow flame or something like that.

Oh, or Ominous (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-weapons/magic-weapon-special-abilities/ominous).

Since Shadows use hit and run tactics and can observe their quarry without being seen, Stalking (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-weapons/magic-weapon-special-abilities/stalking) could work too.

Ooohh those look interesting, Grayflame seems like it might be a bit powerful for a +! enchantment, but as a paladin i beleive i get a limited channel energy so it's possible, i deffinetly like the sound of Ominous, though it might count as evil-ish, as might Stalking. Though overall i do like em and i'll keep em in mind and check with the DM next chance i get.

Any idea what book they are from?

Also i can't beleive i completely forgot to check the pathfinder SRD. i feel like a derp now.

Edit: Ooohhh i really like Called (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/magic-weapons/magic-weapon-special-abilities/called) too, that could come in handy.

The book that's listed in the copyright section on each is Ultimate Equipment, but I'm pretty sure Grayflame was in the APG too.

Curses, all three of your suggestions are a no-go, even Ominous. I liked that one too :smallsigh:
