My campaign is coming down to the last 2 climactic fights and I need a little help protecting my BBEGs from arrows. The deadliest person in the party is the Ranger archer, thanks to the amazing archery feats Pathfinder created.

Because of the enchantments on his bow, his arrows are now pure force damage. I was wondering if a brooch of shielding or something similiar would work against this? I know it specifies Magic Missile, so RAW means no, but he is firing pure force.

If that isn't an option, then I need some spells or magic items that will protect against this hail of death. I just want to shut him down for a single round- the wizard will be able to dispel whatever protection I give, but it would at least keep this big fight going a little longer, which is what I really want.

Oh, this is is going up a party that's pretty close to CR 20.

Arrow-deflecting/ Arrow-snatching? That would at least give you a little bit... if it's the BBEG for a CR20, then he can have epic feats as well, giving you the ability to refect as many arrows as you want in a single round...

EDIT: Even if they're force, there's also a feat to reflect rays and ranged touch attacks, so you should be okay.

Any other general spell that offers miss chance, concealment, or higher AC would also be potentially relevant.

Gonna second Wind Wall.

I would also say: have an in-game reason why he's prepared for your party. As the BBEG, he has hopefully been spying on them for a while, so he can do an evil monologue about how he's prepared himself to null each of their special abilities.

Just make sure that you don't make it too unfair.

If your characters are fighting a CR20 encounter, Wall of Force (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/spells/wallOfForce.html#_wall-of-force) may also be appropriate.

Alternately, you could use forcecage (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/spells/forcecage.html#forcecage) to bottle him up for a few rounds.

Since you specified 3.P, I'll have to go with Fickle Winds (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/f/fickle-winds)

Or this one (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/w/winds-of-vengeance)

Forcecage is definitely fair game for a level 20 party. He should have a way out of it or the casters should be able to help him.

And get some minions on there, both for cover and so he has something else to shoot at. If you want this to be an epic battle, you never want the bad guy to be alone, simply because of how D&D/PF combat works.

Also, look at using contingency along with a teleportation effect. You can't hit what isn't there.

Seconding http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/w/winds-of-vengeance -- that spell is just too cool.

Doesn't the spell "friendly fire" turn all ranged attacks back against the allies of the shooter, or something to that effect?

Yep friendly fire should work (exemplars of evil) it redirects the attack to another target in 30 feet.
