Are there any spells that have very good practical applications. Basically tailor made for farming, etc. Like maybe a spell that makes a furrow in the ground for farmers? Stuff like that.

A friend of mine said to check in Faerun books, but I only have the players guide and can't check anywhere else in my free time. I'm making a character that is almost solely community oriented. I want spells that can be used for mostly mundane applications. And are there any magic items that do the same or much the same thing?

Phantom Plow immediately comes to mind.
Wall of Iron and Wall of Stone for building.
Create Food and Water for feeding the masses.
Dispel Water for flooded areas.
Status for mining operations.
Disintegrate for tunnel making.
Antilife Shell for preventing creatures from entering a dangerous zone.
Fabricate for any and every sort of crafting.
Burrow for excavating.
Easy trail for clearing away vegetation from trails.
Train Animals for getting temporary more competent farm animals.
Warp Wood to alleviate damage to wooden structures.
Wood Shape for making farm equipment.

They're not official, but The Gleaner article that was once posted here had a bunch of homebrewed "mundane" spells. I think you can still find it if you google "site:gianitip.com Gleaner."
