hello one and all
in some of my 3.5 book iv seen some relay weird Prc like the Astral Dancer that are a god in one very specialized situation but truly worthless the rest of the time,
i would like the lot of you to tell me your favorite just plain weird Prc,
and chomper what the most uselessly specialized classes you can get

The Lantaan Artificer PrC from Magic of Faerun. You make devices that emulate spells, but the cost and weight are so high you'll only be able to carry a few at most, and the spells you can mimic aren't that good either.

There is a prc in Hyperconcious that turns your voice into a weapon.

Most specific off the top of my head is dragonstalker, which grants 10d6 sneak attack in 10 levels, but only against dragons.

Weirdest that comes to mind is Flux Adept from Dragon Compendium, because it's all about manipulating your hormones.

I love that Prestige Class regardless because the idea tickles my fancy.
Sure, it's not great, but it looks like fun regardless.
I've always wondered what exactly to enter it with.

The Voce Warrior 'draws' his echoic saber which is invisible except when attacking and which also emits a low pitch hum. When attacking it seems saberlike, raylike,or possesses some similar rudimentary weaponlike image. There are other rules regarding the use of echoic saber, and of course other class features.

Never played one myself or seen it in action.

The Fochlucan Lyrist is pretty bizarre. It's basically a druid/bard, which is awesome, but they decided to throw Evasion in the requirements. So by default it's for druid/bard/rogues or monks. Figuring out how to get into it and not suck is a bit of a brainteaser, although there are ways (mostly involving alternate ways to snag Evasion).

It's a third party book called Hyperconscious.

I agree in that it looks fun, I just can't figure out how to get it to work.

You need a metric but ton of skills (32 when all is said and done), two feats (and I think you can get one of those from the O-hole) and first level arcane illusion spells.

Hmm... I wonder if it is possible to get in using Dragonmarks? :smallconfused:

It looks to be made for wizard/ rogues, but I bet a tricked out Mystic Ranger could pull it off better.

Divine Oracle Springs to mind as a means of entry.

Acolyte of the Skin is honestly pretty weird.

Divine Oracle is a good idea, but subject to DM's discretion as the class feature that Divine Oracles get is like evasion, but it's not Evasion specifically in that it has slightly different mechanics.

Always been a huge fan of the Thunder Guide (Explorers Handbook) even though mechanically it offers next to nothing. 10 levels of fluff disguised as class features.
It might be worth a 2 level dip for a boomerang specialist, but that's about it.

Isn't that the one that gives you a class feature that lets you give lectures at a college?

Same book also has Windwright Captain, which is about captaining an airship. Airships are cool, so the PrC is too.

[Edit]: On further review, the 3rd PrC from Explorer's Handbook, Cataclysm Mage, is pretty cool too. The capstone makes the entire nation of dragons want to track you down and kill you. :smallamused:

Inquisitor of the Drowning Goddess (Und).

If I'm remembering it right, I think that one's based on either 1E or 2E bards, which required you to take levels in several other classes before you became one.
