Steppe Bandit

Does anyone know what a Steppe Bandit might be? I was told that one of the party members is a Barbarian Steppe Bandit, but I can't figure out what that is.

Perhaps it's an in-character description instead of just the words written on his/her character sheet?

As it turns out, it was just a description. I was confused since he was just listing everyone's classes, so I thought it was a Prc.

Steppe refers to a geographical feature/region its grasslands ex. prairie. i figure he was telling you where hes from.

My first guess? Central Asian horse-nomads, who favor mounted archery and skirmishes. Think Mongols. High mobility, high endurance. Potent in an open field (and doubly so against melee), as you can ride into your effective range, get a shot off, then fall back before the enemy can retaliate.

Or, you know, just ask him, instead of a bunch of strangers on the internet.

Well I initially assumed it was an obscure Prc, in which case asking strangers on the internet would work.

As it turned out, it was just a fluff description, making the thread no longer useful.
