Hello there playground, I'm here looking for help again.

I'm preparing myself for a game to come and I came up with a build idea: a hag's daughter :smallamused:. I was thinking of making a sorceress/dread witch/shadowcraft mage (lifted the race restriction, talked to GM about it already a bit) as this character should be focused on fear, dreams and shadows. Problem is, fear handbook on bg is down and I couldn't find it in restored handbooks. So I guess I need some help with what feats to avoid and what to pick and so on. Our games tend to not be optimized, so I just need something to make it work.

Also, if you have some nice idea for race it would be wellcomed. Right now I'm thinking of either lesser tiefling (but it has penalty to cha) or magicblooded human (which is maybe even too strong for my taste).

Hellbred (Spirit) would be a good choice, though -2 Con hurts.
Lesser Aasimar, though flavour clearly sucks for what you're trying to do.

Try this, though. (http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19546874/Master_Player_Race_List_Version_20)

You can still access the Fear Handbook via the Internet Archive Wayback Machine:

Partly it will depend on what material you have accessible -- if you have Forgotten Realms goodies in play, surprise, very strong choices... there is the Dreadful Wrath feat at 1st level which forces fear checks pretty much whenever you do anything significant in combat. Barring that, there is Fearful Presence from the Draconomicon (which can't come online until significantly after 1st level).

If you are not going to ratchet up the Intimidate skill in some fashion, many of the other feats there are less attractive and you will probably mostly focus on your spells.

I'm a huge fan of Fear Bard (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=252815#4) builds in general.
