Abusing sniper and an elvencraft bow? (http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75842/20089385/?pg=last)

Using the Targeteer Fighter variant and its optional Sniper ability, basically abusing the use of a elvencraft bow to sacrifice extra attacks for enormous crit range. Now a later poster responded that this doesn't work, on account that Flurry of blows only applies to unarmed and monk weapons, of which no bows are included.

However, the Exotic Weapons Master class (3 lvl prestige from CW) has the "Flurry of Strikes" ability which is basically a weaker version of Flurry of Blows, but would apply to an exotic weapon, like the greatbow.

So, elvencraft greatbow (that would be a greatclub instead of a quarterstaff, I guess?) wielding targeteer/Exotic Weapon Master. Feasible with this idea? Or stretching it? Worth it even?

What about Rapid Shot? What might that do?

First off, this should be in the 3.5 subforum.

Secondly, your link is broken.

I think you could make it work as a fun build, yeah.

So 2 levels of Targeteer nets you Sniper and Vital Aim. We have three class levels to screw around with. We need rapid shot, disciple of darkness, power attack, combat expertise, far shot, PBS, manyshot, and hand crossbow focus. Totally doable.

Let's go with a great crossbow, here, if that is okay. Plenty of tricks, from Hand Crossbow Focus+Aptitude to having two Great Crossbows and an unseen servant will take care of the reload time. Use Serrated Laminated steel Arrows to increase your threat range and crit multiplier by one. 7 levels of Deepwood Sniper will make your crit range go up from x3 to x5, (the increase doesn't stack with any spell or ability, not mundane gear, that improves crit multiplier.) It also gives you improved critical, which will stack with your next trick.

8 Levels of Disciple of Dispater will triple your weapons critical threat. Your base threat is now 7-20. With Manyshot, you get an extra four arrows. You should get 4 attacks normally. If you get a splitting bow, that is an extra 8 attacks that could arguably be used for sniper, for a total of 16 attacks. 18 if you have some sort of haste effect, and you should.

If you give up 15 of those attacks, you now have 3 attacks with your Dex Mod as precision damage, a x5 crit., and a threat range of 2-20. Or give up Make sure you are using lucky arrows which let you re-roll all arrows once and you won't auto fail unless you roll 2 ones in a row.

Flurry of Strikes only works on double weapons (and spiked chains), so that's a no go.

Isn't there some +1 ablility that makes the weapon count as a monk weapon?
EDIT: As it turns out, yes, but only for melee weapons, and it doesn't actually let you flurry with them.

The CW never specifies anything other than it being the exotic weapon which the EWM uses.

Flurry of Strikes: When wielding an exotic double weapon or a spiked chain with both hands…
