Battle Blessing and Item Creation

If a Paladin creates a magic item say an amulet with a spell like cure light wounds and he has the Battle Blessing feat does that allow him to use the spell in the amulet as a swift action?

Page 55 in complete Champion for the battle blessing feat.

Using a magic item you need to activate to use is a standard action unless the item says otherwise.

Battle Blessing is for the casting of spells, only.

Is the paladin casting a spell? No.
Does Battle Blessing do anything whatsoever in this case? No.

While the rules do allow the creation of magic items containing metamagic versions of spells, unfortunately Battle Blessing is not a metamagic feat.
