Hello everyone! I'm new to the site and frankly am quite lost. The thread the forums suggested I go to is closed so I couldn't make a greeting there. Having no idea what to do I decided to risk posting a new one in the friendly banter. I'm not sure exactly what to do beyond that but I hope I won't be reprimanded for doing this.

That being said the reasons I've joined the Giant's playground forum is to actually look for a group. I again don't know exactly where to go for new players. But I'd like to find a group for 4e who are willing to take me in and show me the ropes. I've played D&D outside the internet but not at all in. I don't know where I can get programs for character sheets and builders and what have you so I would appreciate any assistance that can be willingly given.

There's a thread for greetings. It's here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=249974)

Finding groups can be found here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=51).

Welcome to the forums! If you're looking to join a Play by Post group, check the Finding Players (Recruitment) (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=51) section. If you can't find what you're looking for, feel free to post a new thread there.

Shameless plug: If you're new to play by post, I would strongly recommend you skim or casually peruse this (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=257924) thread.

Hello, fellow Ranger from an undisclosed direction  And welcome to the Giant in the Playground forums.

If you're looking for a group, your best bet might be the Finding Players sub-forum (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=51). There you can look for play-by-post games, most of which are played here. As for programs and such, try Myth-Weavers (http://www.myth-weavers.com) for character sheets. There you can write and save sheets for close to thirty different systems. There you can also find another forum where play-by-post takes place.

As for 4e online resources... can't help you there, being a Pathfinder fan myself, but I'm sure there's someone out here who can help you out.

Once more, welcome and have fun.

Alright, thanks guys. I'll look through myth-weavers and make a profile. Though I was hoping for something over roll20 or using map tools and such. But I shouldn't knock it before I try it as the saying goes so i'll just have to take a look see. Thanks again for the help.
