Okay, so say I am a Ranger for my first few levels, and put skill points into skills that aren't class skills for rangers. Now, let's say I then go into Cleric, and some of the skills that I had points in that weren't class skills for rangers are class skills for clerics. However, I don't put any new ranks in. Do I get the +3 retroactively, or do I need to put ranks into it while it is a class skill?

I don't really do Pathfinder but I seem to recall that's how it worked.

If you select a level in a new class, all of its class skills are automatically added to your list of class skills, and you gain a +3 bonus on these skills if you have ranks in them.
It's retroactive. This seems unrelated to the issue of favored class bonuses, though?

Errr, yeah, I guess I titled it wrong. I meant Class Skill bonus. Thanks for the quick answers, all the same.
