Let's assume we have a character with the Up the Walls (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/psionicFeats.htm#upTheWalls) feat and also has Battle Jump (UE). Battle Jump states that you must hurl yourself (ie actually making a jump check) from at least 5 ft higher than your opponent to get the benefit of the feat (double damage)

Now if we move up a wall so we are 5 or even 10 ft over our opponent something like this: Y is our up the walls character and X is the opponent, the bars are a wall/tree/post/column/what-ever. Would the jumo be treated as a long jump? Or how would you rule it?

No jump check is required for Battle Jump. As stated in the feat, you need only fall onto the enemy. A Jump check is only required if you want to mitigate your own falling damage (as stated in the feat.)

While it isn't stated in the feat, I would rule that a Battle Jump from a square several horizontal squares from the target is also possible (as long as you still jump from the required height above your opponent.) For that case, I would use the long jump rules to determine how far away horizontally a character could do this.
