Can you use 'mending' to clear a misfired gun?

Technically no... any nonmagic firearm is destroyed and and magic firearm is wrecked

Early Firearms: If an early firearm with the broken condition misfires again, it explodes. When a nonmagical firearm explodes, the weapon is destroyed. Magical firearms are wrecked, which means they can’t fire until they are fully restored (which requires either the make whole spell or the Gunsmithing feat).

if it is an advanced firearm yes

Advanced Firearms: Advanced firearms can misfire, but when they do, they only gain the broken condition. A further misfire does not cause advanced firearms to explode.

edit: derp misread the question

Yes XD

Yes. Unfortunately for a Spellslinger, Mending is a cantrip, so you'll have to buy a scroll and cast it as a first level spell.

Though, I've wondered if there's anything preventing you from taking one level of wizard and all the rest of the levels as sorcerer.

what stops you from taking a level 0 cantrip spell instead of one of your first level spell?

It's cheaper to buy a scroll of mending than it is to buy a first level scroll.

This ability replaces cantrips, but the spellslinger gains the detect magic and read magic cantrips and places them in his spellbook. He can cast either of these as 1st-level spells.

You could get mending, but it wouldn't be a cantrip.

You're not allowed to multiclass into the first level of a class that you already have levels in, so no dice there as spellslingers are still wizards. You can double into another class with cantrips, though. The best solution is probably to take the amateur gunslinger feat and the quick clear deed, which will let you repair your gun as a standard action.

Which is why I said sorcerer. Being as it's a different class.

Nothing stopping you. It just puts you a full spell level behind a single classed wizard spellslinger, since sorcerers are a character level slower to gain spells than wizards and this one is another level down due to the multiclassing.
